Yeah... I guess it's been a while since I've been on your thread Lil. Well worth the wait!
It's people like you that make me lose sleep, itching to get back to work!

Thank you all so much for the continued support!!!

This week has been hectic at work, but I've been painting all day today so I should have some finished parts to show you guys tomorrow! Hooray! In the meantime, some overdue responses...

Austrian approves ! thumbs up very well done and im sure u are inspiring many foam builders here !
Lol, thank you. I'm definitely glad to help motivate others!

omgomgomgomg I am so excited to see this in color. Helmet looks EPIC by the way, also the gun is really wicked cool
Hehehe, thank you!!

Seriously. None compares.
I don't know if I can agree...but thank you!!! :D

I'm not worthy to set my eyes on such an awesome set of armor! Can't wait to see it all painted!
Lol, I can't wait to see it all painted either! My hands will be grateful when it is all done!!!

Yey full body shot!:)
Will express my admiration in full once it's all painted so till then keep doing what you do so well :)

Tom.
Thank you, sir!

I'm not sure if anybody has asked this, but are you going to put a fan in your helmet to avoid it fogging up? I also was wondering if you knew about underarmour coldgear (I think), maybe it's hotgear, to wear to avoid baking in a hot suit? It's supposed to wick away the sweat and keep the surface of your skin cool, even while under multiple layers. I use the technology for all the gear I wear for motorcycle riding. I'm just mentioning these things to ensure you are aware to help with the comfort of such an epicly awesome suit. I give you so much props on all the awesomeness in this project! I hope you post pics of the dropped jaws when people see you on Halloween!
Thanks for the info :)! I'm planning on adding a fan at some point, but I'm not sure if I'll get to it until after Halloween. I did put six vents in the helmet though, so hopefully those will be somewhat effective until I can get a fan in. As for the hot/coldgear I'll definitely have to check it out! And I'll be sure to get some Halloween pics!

Wow....unbelievable. As you mentioned, it is very exciting to see some color coming into the picture now. Keep up the great work girl!!

-Matt
Thank you, thank you :D

Awesome work as always lil. Did you use an airbrush to apply the acrylic or just brush it on? the paint work looks great by the way. :D
Thanks vshore! I used a combo of airbrush, sponge and brush. Apparently, I like to be complicated :p

Finished build pic's are out of this world.:D
As to the paint. Well lets just say the color combinations are working very well. starting with the base coat and working up to the high and low lights, along with the ware is most impressive. With looking at all the detail you put into this build the paint job will just be the icing on the cake.:cool

Side note: I'd love to see a bigger pic of the suit up if possible. :cool
Sweet! Color! The armor looks incredible as it is, I can't wait to see it in color. I agree with Thorn, the pics you have up now are fine, especially for the progress shots, but when it comes to the finished armor, people are going to want to see nice big HD pictures.

Loving this build! Can't wait to see it complete.
Thanks thorn and carpathia! I will post bigger pics tomorrow!

As always, FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!! Now, once you have it done and painted, we need to see the person under the mask. Just my opinion.
Thank you plasauce! But ::gasp:: reveal my face?!? Then all my super powers will be rendered useless :p! But in all seriousness, I probably won't show my face...I'm weird and like a certain amount of privacy on the internet. If you need a face, just imagine Boomer from Battlestar Gallactica...she's my closest celebrity doppelganger, lol.

This looks fantastic! I really need to do an undersuit. That nerf blaster looks amazing as well. Where is it from?
Thanks Mac! I'm not sure the name of the original nerf. It was given to me by a coworker who modded it. It packs quite a punch!

Awesome job as always, LilTyrant. Great doesn't describe it, but GREAT Job!!!! Can't wait to see it all painted up.
can't wait to see it all painted
:D Thanks guys. I'm excited to get it all painted, too!

Wow, this is just grand! Amazing work Lil' Tyrant, wondering: Where did you get Plastidip? (hopefully not via online shopping!)
If you've got a Home Depot nearby where you are, that is where I was always able to find some if no one else had it. They had both the spray and brush on kinds there.
i was never able to find it at home depot, or anywhere else for that matter. The ONLY place i found the plasti dip spray was LOWE'S.
I also got mine at Lowe's (they have both spray and brush-on). I haven't checked Home Depot because Lowe's is closer :). Spaceg0st and I are both in SoCal, so it's possible that different areas carry different stock.

ok..lil..stop it.. just stop now.
we cant handle all this..ot only can you sew..but you can do foamwork..but no dont stop there.. just from the thatwee lil hand plate..you got the patience to do a great paint job..JEALOUSY SETS IN.
great work lil cant wait to see the rest painted and your thread elevated..you deserve it.
Hehehe:) Thank you Dhamone!

Glorious! You have done a spectacular job LIL. I look forward to the finished paint. And if i ever have the chance to see you at a con im taking a picture with you lol
Thank you M! And I'm planning on going to SDCC next year :)

Hey LilTyrant, i was looking in other post and i end up here.
I know a lot of people told you this already but i must say it again.
This is one of the best foam suite i saw so far.
Well done and keep it up, looking forward to see the painting.

Woohoo, it's Update Time!!!

Most of the little pieces are pretty much finished (decals/text still need to be added in some places). For all of the pieces, I'm following the same painting method I used for the test handplate from my last update:

Handplates:

Knees:

Shoulders:

Arms (missing the right forearm):

Spine:

Ab:

Thighs:

The rest of the pieces have some paint on them, but it's just a base coat (so it's not very exciting to look at). Hopefully I can wrap them up in time!!!

Oh, and as requested by thorn, here's a bigger shot of the suit up (before I started paint):

Awesomeness alert!

That detail is exquisite. Your skill is quite clearly shown. Absolute awesomeness. There is now a real requirement for a godlike section.

Is there nothing you can't do Lil??? The paint looks so realistic!!! I'd love to see a paint tutorial from you if you're up to it! (After your armor gets finished of course) :D

Skill Level......Epic

I second this!!!! Is there anything you CAN'T DO? :cool Looks Spectacular!!!!!!

Yup. Still in love with this entire build! It looks awesome Lil! I can't wait to see it all put together and finished, It's absolutely mind blowing just broken down into pieces. Definitely have found the motivation here to start really devoting my free time into my build. Great Job!

Also, I'm sure this is somewhere in the thread, and I looked through to try and find it but didn't see it anywhere. How did you manage to get the actual edges of the foam so clean? I've been working on mine and that seems to be my biggest problem so far. A friend told me I could just sand it out, but I wasn't sure how well the foam would hold up to that.
