Husband and wife custom spartans

Alright let start out by saying, hello. I've been here on the 405th for a while and have a few threads here. My first was an attempt at making the mrk 6 chief, but I got MAJORLY sidetracked and spent the last 7 months making my Ultramarine captain build. Bit now that I am finished I want to restart my Spartan armor fresh. This armor will be of my own design and be cometely unique from the Spartans of the games, meaning I'm not sticking to canon characters and just doing what I like. This build may take me a little while but that is because I have other projects going on, I am building several helmets for people who have requested them (thank you Ral Partha for your permission to do so). OK now on to it.
First off I have pep'd the helmet, I have decided to go with the EOD.

so after I pep'd it I decided to primer paint the paper model with a black primer, one, since I don't know how long it will be before I can glass it (hopefully this weekend along with my others :), and two, its far better looking this way over the white paper that it was, and this way I can tell that the helmet looks good and is symmetrical.

Also it fits!!

I have not decided on color yet bit have been thinking of a dark red/blue, black/gold, or grey/brown. So overall I haven't decided. But let me know what you guys think!

That, sir, is a very nice piece of work.

+1 for the creativity.

One recomendation. Stick with gray primer, as it lets you see imperfections much better than black, or white primer.

Lookin' sweet dude! EOD helmet is always an awesome one to go with. Will be awesome to see this finished!

So got some updates here,

I got the helmet glassed, I ran out of resin so I need to get some more so I can Rondo the inside of the helmet too.

Also got the faux lens cut out.

And since I have no more resin for now I went ahead and started Bondoing

Thia is becoming a very nice build, very challenging so far. I did a decent job on my space marine but I feel like I could have done better and not so rushed. I want this build to be as perfect as possible, so its crucial I take my time and get this just right, I have a half day from work tomorrow so I will be working on this every moment I am home practically, its my pride and joy so far.

This is looking great so far. When you say custom, do you mean that you're going to make like... a multiplayer spartan? Anyway, hopefully you don't get sidetracked like you did last time, eh? Can't wait to see progress.

Yeah I suppose you can say a multilayer spartan, I plan on using alot of various files for the attachments and add ons to give this armor some character. Additionally I may add in some other flare to make this more my own and more unique, you just have to wait and see! ; )

Some of the concept pictures had pretty awesome shoulder pauldrons and such. Those seem pretty unique, as nobody has made one yet.

I have been looking around, I would really like to be able to make the shoulders interchangeable, that way I could make a couple different ones, that would be cool. But Idk, I am open to suggestions for any piece of the build. I am still undecided on the color scheme of the whole suit as well.

OK so I got some more work done today,

There are a few places to fill in but the top is looking really smooth

There is not much left to do now on the outside of the helm, and btw probably not my only update for today so stay tuned.

Thanks, its getting there, I need more resin so I can Rondo the inside, and I found I missed some resin on the outside because when I rinsed the bondo dust off some of the paper started pealing off. So I'm done working on it until I get more, gives me more time to work on the forearms and shoulders though. Should be back to resining come Friday night.

Its not a huge update, but its something to show
I got one of the forearms pep'd last night

And after about the third try, I finally got it to a size I am comfortable with

Hopefully get the other one pep'd so I can move on to the cheat or the shoulders.
let me know what you think!

Firstly, this build is looking fantastic. The EOD from reach is one of my favorite helmets, and I was actually in the process of making it when it ripped from a thin application of rondo. Secondly, I saw you mentioned interchangeable shoulders, and I think that what I'm shooting for is very similar to your goal. http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/31352-Tutorial-Install-amp-Detail-your-visor?highlight=recon+helmet Here you see Blackula using screw and posts in order to make a visor easily removable. Could we not do the same with shoulders, and just make the posts exactly spaced on each shoulder to make them interchangeable? Just a thought, and good luck as you keep working!

I would assume that would be a easy thing to modify......lots to design out. I'm super syked about this build, I cant wait to get more materials so I can continue on the helmet, and start getting the rest of the upper body pep'd.

nice. what kind of chest piece are you going with? EOD? i like that one.

I actually have not decided yet, I have not found a pep file for the EOD yet either, or shoulders for that matter.

And on that note, I got the helmet finished with the bondo tonight.

I have already gotten my Spartans color picked out, but as far as the chest and shoulders, I was going to go with the standard and add to it, so we will see
