Hey everyone, getting started on a Warrior build from Halo 4.
Starting with the helmet I guess. This one is Satchmo's file.
I'll be doing low-d and adding details later.

That's where it sits right now, more updates to come!

Looking good, i started the file but no way it would've came out as nice as this but after seeing your last builds what can i expect other than this awesomeness

nice pep work here. you and i are at the same point on the same project. will keep my eyes open for this one to be finished :eek

Progress! Rotocasted the inside with polyurethane yesterday instead of fiberglass. So much easier and so much more effective.

Thanks for the comments, keep up the builds!

Heh, your visor's alot cleaner than mine, attaching that visor was no trouble for you??

I didn't have too much trouble with the visor, I pepped the visor/face separately from the rest of it and attached it after. You might be able to see what I did in this photo.

That looks nice. How thick are you bondoing the outside?

It's very thin, the bondo layer is no more than 1/8 inch anywhere around. After sanding it'll be even less.

Pardon this double post, just adding some updates.
Finished sanding the bondo'd areas and primed the helmet. Moving on to the detailing now.

Keep on building!

Holy crap dude! I have to agree with Ninjetsu, how are you so fast??!?! I'm still on my 5th helmet, but its my first one to reach the bondo stage...

Nice dude. Yeah you are crazy fast! This is the first I've seen of hardening with polyurethane. Could you PM me with your method? I'm quite interested for my future helms. Fiberglass was a pain, and my rondo attempt failed miserably.

Wow, althought I'm not a fan of the new spartan helmet's yours just looks great!! awesome bondo-work too! really!

Hardening with a plastic like smoothcast 300 is defiantly the way to go. Fiberglass is messy, toxic, and deforms the helmet easily. Plastic isent toxic, and if you use it slowly, then your helmet will come out as beautiful as this beast

fantastic job!

Hardening with polyurethane must have saved me like 4 hours of work.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

UPDATE TIME

Added the second layer of bondo and finished the initial detailing stages. The only thing left to do is all minor details around the visor and mold this baby.

So far I've spent almost 24 hours in 6 days working on it.

Keep on building guys.

nice work, In six days you've done more than what I have on my now abandoned armor set, and I started that forgotten project many months ago.
