Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but I've done some pep work before! (see: Space Marine)
Anyway, now I'm trying something completely new for my Lich King outfit by sculpting stuff out of clay then making a latex mould and casting in resin.
So I started by Pep'ing one of the shoulderpads and coating it in resin. However once it had dried and I started sculpting with clay, the clay was too heavy for the card and it began to buckle in some areas. Not only that, but when the clay was drying, it started cracking. Finally, there was no way I could get a really smooth curve so I have since stopped that and am trying to think of a new way to do this. Any help would be appreciated, but I've been thinking of a resin coated cardboard base and laying clay thickly onto it to reduce cracking and all that.
Anyway, pics of the shoulderpad:
