Grave_Hawks N7 Armor WIP​

So it's been a while and I've had this EVA foam just sitting in my office. I had ordered it probably about a year ago. I happen to be cruising the 405th like I always do. Checking out what everyone else is doing...and I see this thread of a set of N7 armor by Hugh Holder complete with foam templates.

Hmmmm. So after looking at it, I decided it would be the perfect armor to try making using foam. It's been several months since I started this project. However, I didn't want to create a thread until I was certain I was actually going to complete this.

Thus far I have the entire upper body completed with just a few minor details to finish and a few more straps to strap. Here are some highlight pictures of the project so far:
*sorry if some of the pictures are blurry. It's hard to take pics of yourself...in armor...in a mirror.

and one last one just to show the weathering a bit better...

And that's where I stand as of now. I'm closing in on the home stretch just have to make the thighs, calves, and boots. More updates to come soon.

Small Update:

I got everything strapped up and gave it a test fit just to make sure it's good so far. I'm pretty happy with it. Now to building the legs.

Minor Update:

I adjusted the straps a little bit and since I had to suit up again I figured I should take a pic with the Nerf gun that I painted up to go with the suit.

Also the thighs are under way. They seem to be a tad trickier than the other parts so far so my progress has been slow.
Well little by little I'm inching towards the finish.

I sure am loving all these N7 builds popping up everywhere. Sadly, I've looked everywhere for templates myself, but all the links are down. You wouldn't happen to have a download link for Hugh's would you?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. As requested, some pictures of the helm from all sides. And just a little disclaimer. I'm not happy with the ear areas and I plan on doing something to make them look better at some point. So...

Update:

Got the thighs assembled and started to strap them up. I'll probably give them a plasti dip coat tomorrow and finish strapping up one completely. I didn't realize that this part of the suit took so many buckles. So looks like next payday it's back to wal-mart...

Update:
I got the left thigh all strapped except for the belt part and tried it on to see how it fit with the other armor. I think it's about right. It keeps riding down but after I install the waist belt it should hold it in place. So...

*Note on that last one. I have to figure out something for the back of the torso. It's real flimsy and I can't seem to get it to bend in the way it should.

And finally...extra credit!

I decided to put the paragon decal on my left shoulder bell.
That's all for now. The thighs are sitting in the garage with 2 coats of plasti dip down. I'll start weathering some of the pieces tomorrow I think. So until then...

Amazing looking, I especially like the designs on the helmet. Killer angles, do you use an xacto knife only or hot craft knife for bevels?
