Update no.30

It´s time for another update! First off I fixed a few things on the boot covers mainly the battle damage so now it looks quite allright. Then I finished the finger pieces that go on the left hand so now it´s time to finish the rest of them. xd Both knee armor pieces are finished so now it is time to paint them. And last but not least I did some changes to the helmet. It might look like I just thew it from the roof but nope, it didn´t worked. :D Anyway I want to make it look cool - easier said than done right ? :D And to achieve it I want to add some seriously realistic looking battledamage and everything. It migh not look like it now but trust me (I´am an engineer!) it will be really good. Plus there is a reason I´am doing it - I hate it when a battle/combat armor is all new, nice and shiny. Enjoy!

Update no.31

I got a few more things done, starting with the two shin parts. Yeah, I might have gone a little bit overboard with the battledamage but who cares! xd Then I used some hot glue to attach the finger pieces on the gloves. Thankfully I only had to go through this painful process twice. But hey! They look pretty good on the gloves plus with the remaining pieces and the handplate it will look really awesome! And the last thing is about the helmet. So I used some bondo the add some damage and stuff but my vocabulary is not big enough to describe what I did and I don´t want to use Google Translator so let the pictures speak for themselfs. Enjoy!

Update no.32

Yeah! I´am on a roll! xd Anyway, it´s update time again! Finally the new and a bit smaller torso is finished so now it´s time to glue some cardboard on the inside to make it a bit more stronger (So it could keep it´s shape). Yep it will be a bit heavier too. OF course now I aint gonna do that stupid thing I did with the first one - cutting it in half after the resin stage. -___- Still I have a really long way to go. Now it is all about waiting for the XV-27 Shifting forearms. :/ And lastly I finished two more pieces - the knee armor. They are all "damaged" and everything and the left has the effect like it was hit with a plasma round that´s why it looks like it is burned or something. Oh I almost forgot. I counted all the pieces and there are 64 of them and right now I have 17 finished! (Not counting the weapons.) Enjoy!

Update no.33

After a while it is time to post some new pictures! So first off I finished two more little pieces that go on the boots. Actually I might have gone a bit overboard with the battle damage but I think it will look pretty good when everything will be put together/ assembled. Moving on I finished seven small finger pieces but god they were a real pain in the butt and there is still like fifteen more to finish! Ugh... Anyway I fixed a little bit some of the already finished pieces, well it was more like adding a bit more battledamage. And lastly I added some details to a few pieces using cardboard and they are already coated with two layers of fiberglass. And that is all for today update but stay tuned for more! Enjoy! :D

Update no.34

FINALLY! The new Orbital torso is finished! And why did I had to make a new one? Well, the first got deformed and no matter how I tried it couldn´t be fixed, so that´s why. Anyway the new one is a bit smaller, has more details too and the cardboard on the inside will prevent it from getting deformed BUT it means it is a bit more heavier than the first one but hey! I don´t care! xd Still, it is done and is already coated with two layers of resin so now I only have to wait till it dries. In the mean time I managed to finish all the small finger pieces but damn... they were a real pain in the butt. Now just attach them on the gloves using velcro. Saddly there won´t be any Shifting forearms or well not "righ now" so I gonna have to scratch build them out of cardboard since I only have a month and a half till AnimeShow 2014 and I can´t wait any longer. The truth is I never scratch build any armor piece I mean a complicated one so it will be a new experience for me! :D Anyway that is all. Enjoy!

wow man, you have seen lots of battle lol. Armor looks awesome, keep up the good work :)

Update no.35

More stuff incoming!
Well I will keep it short since there is pretty much nothing to talk about xd so first of I did some work on the torso and right now I´am at the fiberglass stage and it goes pretty fast so hopefully I can even finish it like next week which would be awesome! In the mean time I started to work on the forearms but I guess I might have gone the wrong way with them. And lastly I got one of the AB plates fully bondoed which means it is time to paint!
That would be all for today. Enjoy!

Update no.36

Even today I got a few more pictures for you guys and girls of the 405th! Let´s begin with another completed part which would be the second AB plate. Next would be another update on the torso piece. Well I´am almost finished with it of course with the fiberglass stage but still it looks pretty good. Then I painted the shoulder armors parts but now I realised that I need to add a few well "symbols" on it so they are not in a finished state right now. And I´am going to end this post with a update on the forearms. So it turned out that the way I originally wanted to do them was just bad. So I throw it into the bin and started again this time a slightly bit differently but hey, let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!

This build is lookin' epic, man! I love the battle damage! Could you possibly do a detailed tutorial? Once again, great work! Keep it up!

Thanks mate :D

The battle damage is not that hard to make so I don´t think it requires a tutorial and I´am bad when it comes to making one xd but here is a short one - First, you will need some paint which is used for small plastic models (I´am using paint from Revell - black and steel - I don´t know the exact number for the colors but I don´t worry I will add them a bit later), of course you will need two small brushes too. Next would be adding the battle damage. The technique I´am using is basically the same that everyone uses (There are some videos on YouTube for that too) the only difference is that after the "steel color" I add some black on it. And I´am just doing it hovewer I think it´s good xD Of course I carve some actual battle damage into the pieces with my dremel it is because at that point I become too lazy to continue with bondo work. :D

Update no.37

It is that time again! Yes, it´s time for some more progress pictures! Well actually I wanted to post them yesterday but I was just too lazy to do it. xd Anyway I finished the shoulder armor and used screws to screw the knee on the other knee armor. And the last thing is that I cut the torso in half so now just wait till it dries completely. Enjoy!

Update no.38

Just a small update this time. Basically I cut the remaining fiberglass from the torso and started working on how to rejoin the two torso pieces back together with some plastic buckles. Enjoy!

Not gonna lie, my coffee almost went through my nose when I saw the battle damage to your helmet. But it looks awesome! Great job!

Keep it up! Looking great!
How do you plan on keeping the finger pieces on the gloves? Velcro?

Thanks mate :D
