Thanks, Shockwave! I have been searching for pictures since last night, haven't found many, I tagged a few on Facebook. The only pic they took of me on stage was of my backside walking down the aisle...oh well. These pics you took are GREAT. I love the epic 'over the shoulder' looking one...awesome. Next time I need to bring someone to be a personal photographer all day, I didn't realize how difficult it would be to get pictures for yourself. Was cool hanging out, dude.

Hopefully more pics will surface, we couldn't walk two feet without stopping for a photo session...

I love this build! It gives me a lot of hope for my own foam build to turn out this good without having to spend long hours cutting and gluing on foamies. So... Since you're done now, what are you gonna build next?

Thanks, it was comments like these that made the suit possible in the first place. Your encouraging words (as well as others') kept me pumped up and motivated from the beginning (back when I was ruining pepakura pieces with expanding foam and smoothcast...lol).

So, to answer your question...I don't know. I think I'm going to tighten up the Reach suit a bit for Shadocon and Halloween, redo the thighs a little bigger, add the goggles to the helmet, finish my M6G, maybe do the EVA shoulder (I wanted to do that for the con...)

But then again, I am so ready to make another suit! With all that I learned building this one, especially a few things I picked up on in the end, I am confident that I can make a much higher quality build from the jump. I'm thinking I want to tackle H4, either Master Chief or Infinity...I can't decide...
I am definitely going to make another Reach AR, nothing wrong with this one, I just want to try a different approach...
What would you guys like to see me build???

So, I have decided that I'm pretty proud of my Reach build so I'm gonna stick with it for a while as cons and other appearances before I start building another suit (and I want to see what H5 is going to bring us...). This does not mean that I'm gonna stop building though! I am going to shift my focus to weapons for a while, I had a lot of fun building the AR and it got a lot of attention/ooh's and ahhh's at Supercon. HEY EVERYONE! I know its been a WHILE, but I have a few updates I want to share as far as this suit goes before I start my next one...which I'm startinnnnnnnnnnng...NOW!

Ok, I ended up attaching a big ol U-bolt to the back of the torso, as well as a bolt on the assault rifle to mount it on my back. Worked like a charm, I wore the suit for about 12 hours on Halloween and let me tell you, having the free hands and still toting around the rifle...priceless. The bolt on the gun is hardly noticeable, and the one on the torso looks pretty cool anyway.



The u-bolt is held on by two massive washers on the inside to disperse the weight of the rifle and prevent it from tearing the torso apart, this worked very well. no signs of distress around the bolt after about 48 hours of use over a few events.

Coming soon...gonna do a Halo One (i think thats still the working title for the new game...) Master Chief for MegaCon!

Yeah, pretty much! Lol. It cuts the paper pieces from pepakura software for you. Its awesome.

Nice, I have been looking at ways of mounting my rifle on the back. Ideally I'd like to embed so easy strong magnets but I don't think that will be very theft proof.
