I'm not sure how I missed this. Excellent progress thus far! Some of the best foam work I've seen around here. I look forward to more!

Thought you guys might want to throw your hat in the ring on this- Ready Up is giving away some pretty cool Halo swag, and the focus of the contest is "creators". Can't think of a place to find more awesome Halo creators than here!

Should have some more progress pics soon. Thanks for looking guys!

Your work I must say is flawless, I can't believe it's your first time too, is their anyway you can make printable templates for download seeing this has inspired me.

I really appreciate that man! I'm doing my best to preserve my templates as I go along. Once the suit is done, I'll definitely get them all scanned and uploaded for everyone. :D

Seriously though your foam skills are amazing, i can only hope that my build turns out as good as yours.

It is NOT I repeat NOT MKVV it is MKVI he never got new armor.

Exactly correct, in halo 4 the chief is wearing the same suit of mjolnir (mk VI) as in halo 3. All 343 did was modify it to the match the upgraded graphics. Notice the same damage on his right side chest piece from re-entering the atmosphere in the beginning of halo 3.

See me do things the hard way in this installment, lol. Note to self, cut out recess BEFORE adding detail on the next thruster pack. I also REALLY need to stop sinking the hot knife so deep when repositioning pieces. I keep hitting finished lines with the hilt of the knife and making more prep work for myself. :/

I...I'm still trying to understand how I haven't come across this thread yet. But regardless, amazing job. And from one in the process of making scratch templates, I understand the gross undertaking of it. It aint no walk in the park lol so kudos. Love the reverse scored seams, really gives it that manufactured look. Can't wait to see more!

Did you make a three dimensional model (out of paper or cardboard or something) from your 2d templates or did you just work straight from the templates?
