I started working on the smg back when the 405th was having some technical issues so i never posted anything about it which would have been
deleted anyway when the reversal to the old version of the 405th.

But for this project i went with a different method and used MDF board that i purchased from my local home improvement store. I used a piece that
was 1 3/16" thick for the body and the stock out of one piece construciton. to make the angles i used a scroll saw and belt sander to slowly take
away material to give her the curves she needed.

The extendable stock which is fixed in place and the barrel of the gun are made useing 1/2 inch and 5/8in poplar dowel rod. and on the barrel i put
on a small piece of pvc pipe over the top so it could slide easier into the pvc pipe suppressor. The laser sight on the suppressor of the weapon is
made using both mdf and the dowels combined. Earlier in the build i tried to make my own holosight shown in a couple of the pictures using mdf and pvc
and clear styrene plastic but after many trial and errors with different glues from modeling glue to epoxies, liquid nails, total of 9 different types of glues
it still came apart very easily. So to fix that problem i contact Tactonyx who hooked me up with one of his beautifully crafted holosights from his M7
build.

The carving into the piece was pretty easy with the help of my rotary tool with assorted carving bits to achieve the desired detail i was looking
for. The weapon is almost finished with just a lil bit more painting to complete which i will also post more pics of when completed. But for now here
are the pictures i took along the way.

Photos are in order they were taken during the development of the weapon

What i used for my template for the SMG

Not much left to it but i still wanted to share it.

Feel free to comment and as always Happy Armoring 405th!!!

Wow excellent work, that looks quite nice. My only thought would be the dimples on the grip and the butt stock. I thought they were raised bumps instead of holes? Do you plan on molding?

They are raised bumps on the actual weapon but i would not come up with a way to make them unfortunately with my budget so i went with holes instead. And when it comes to molding i know nothing about the process and dont have the funds at this time either :( but i do plan on someday getting into it once i get my financial situation squared away.

looks amazing you should do a tutorial on how you made it.

I may end up making a couple more basic SMG's for dual wield when I get my Halo Wars spartan armor rolling at which time i will be more detailed with the pictures and information. That's taking some time as i am waiting on a couple of
files to be completed and also making the files foam friendly. :)

Well there was not much left to be done to the SMG except a few painting details and writing decals on the side and also a clear plastic
piece on the holo sight for the red dot aperature.

I hope y'all enjoy and feel free to leave a comment :)
