I watched the new RoboCop yesterday.. I really loved the adaptation. :) definitely different from the first couple..

I hope you have the armor accomplished! :)

It looked so great!! Just wondering if you pulled it off in time. ;)

Na, ran out of time! I could not get hold of any foam due to where I live! So now I'm aiming for October 2014 and I will take it to Comic-Con London for its 1st outing!

I will be watching the new Robocop this week! really looking forward to it!

question are you going to build the newer Robocop after this one?

Maybe, I need to make a new Halo set 1st but depending on the movie I may. I'm a believer in having to love what you build to cosplay correctly, It takes 6 months to a year to build and I would go crazy looking at something and thinking "What a crap film"

the templates you used to make your suit are you sharing them on this forum? i have a lot of foam and have been dying to get started. pepakura is out for me because i have a mac. any help you give would be great, awesome build. love the classic look.

Yeah Here is a link to a site where I found the files. The files will need a small amount of editing as they are for a man high of 6"2. I increased the helmet 20% as my 1st was too small!

Things have began rolling again for this build. I will begin on his legs tonight, just finished editing my PEP file as Iam 5"10.

Getting low on foam!
But as you can see all is going well and I’m on track to have him ready for October. I have started the legs (Thighs) and have just got a leg brace for my right thigh so I can build the opening mechanism. If anyone has any great ideas on how I can make a spring loaded opening leg or a powered opening leg pleas reply to this thread!

He lives in a communal hallway within my house and people have laugh at the fact he look VERY 80’s due to the colours. I cannot wait to give him his undercoat and see him neutral.

You might try the local breakers yard. Might get a push / release one out of a saloon or kombi. As far as an electric actuator how bout a cd/dvd tray motor and gear?... From an old computer. I think they operate on a 12v system.

Thanks for the ideas. I may go for a old VHS player mechanism, the old toploaders had a puts release (Probably rare as hell now) if not a VHS player I think I will use a cdROM drive. I can get them really easy from my work!!

How to build RoboCop Part 1

I am building a RoboCop Cosplay from foam and will post videos as I build.

Part 1: Showing basic start. I'm using EVA floor foam to build and lots of Hot Glue!!!

You are making good progress! Did you actually cut it all out with a kitchen knife? I would recommend getting a utility knife, as they have a smaller blade, and are easier to manoeuvre.

Na, I started with the kitchen knife but i'm mostly using a stanley blade now!!

Glad you like my build and hope you continue to enjoy!

are you going to put in the data spike in the arm or just leave it like it is. because that's like the second best middle finger ever.

I may make a data spike for a laugh, its not the hardest add-on to make! Watch this space and see :)

I think the side by side comparison looks great :)

Thanks! I have just finished planning my shins and will cut the foam this week. Then I will begin the slow sanding of the foam suite before beginning the next phase.................

The Last Large Parts

So the last large parts are ready to be cut. Once the shins are done and glued I will begin sanding and adding the details to the suite.
