Righteous, keep up the good work :)

Thanks.

Beautiful day today so I got a lot of sanding done. Can't wait to put this in the old spray booth. :)

Got some Primer on it. I've got to iron out all the little wrinkles and scratches. While

that's curing I guess I'll make a pistol.

I like the idea for the foam padding - extremely innovative.

That said, I can't help but think that you may have gone a little crazy on the bondo with the helmet.

Thanks!

Nah those pictures had a lot of glare.

Put some base details on.

Mmmh.... nah, I'd still say you hit the can of bondo a little too hard. I've seen the images pre-paint, and dare I say it - you've lost a lot of detail work that was present in the pep file. Still, good work regardless.

Oh, ok I thought you were referring to it as a lumpy surface. I washed out the details on both of these helmets. I'm adding them afterwards. I was more concerned with the experimental techniques not paying off. Plus I'm finding it looks nicer to me if each detail stands out as a individual component instead of it looking like the piece was forged from one mold. My next builds will be far superior to these. My son and his friends will most likely destroy these so I needed durability not game accuracy.

Very cool way of filling the helmet with foam lol
Everything is looking good to me :)

Hey everyone that reads this. I just learned something this morning. When I went out to the garage to check up on my helmet that had been curing overnight I noticed something pretty interesting. If you decide to use plasti dip make sure you don't use silicone as a sealant before spraying. Might only be the industrial kind I used.

IT REACTS WITH THE PLASTI DIP AND EATS AT IT!

Good news is I can peel it off, bad news is wasted time and product. Gotta order some more product from dipyourcar.com as I'm getting low.

Helmet's are getting new plasti dip layers added right now. So while waiting for them to dry I picked up where I left off with pistol.

Each piece will be scanned by my printer so I can have a good base template for future generations. This was all free hand using pictures online and scaled to best of my ability.

Also each layer will be hardened with resin to provide rigidity.

Wow, thats interesting indeed. But at least you cant peel it off the helmet :)
I like where the pistol is going :)

Yes that is why I painted it first. Makes a surface easy to remove Plasti Dip from. Kids change there minds all the time.
Thanks again. First coat of casting Resin. I made a stencil for this pistol Also. Scanned in my computer so as to retain true scale.

Coming along nicely. Thanks a lot for all the product information and how you use it. It really helps.

No problemo. You're welcome.

I really like pushing the limits to see what the possibilities are. Of course I destroy a lot more than normal.
