More updates! Sorry about the double post but nobody commented. So, i've finished pepping the thigh

DSC01500_zps6db4be20.jpg

I thought I had more pics but I guess not. I resined it and use Carpathia's thigh supports and they worked like a charm. no warping so far.

I resined the shin
DSC01501_zpse10185c3.jpg
DSC01502_zps520f0447.jpg

No warping that I can see there either.

Now for the boot. It is about 96% complete. The reason I say that is because 1 I need to secure the velcro more. 2 I need to fix the gap seen here between the ''circle'' part and the heel. 3 Paint the foam. 4 add foam to the bottom for more comfort. And then add the middle details, i'm still working on that though.

DSC01503_zps7ee5bc7b.jpg

DSC01505_zps7bb0029c.jpg

And on the toe piece you can see I put popsicle sticks for the ridges.

DSC01506_zps57c10d84.jpg

I should have the shin and thigh rondoed today or tomorrow!

Comments and criticisms are welcome!

Ok no pics today, but I have a question. So once I finish up the right leg I will be starting on the Cod piece. So I've downloaded Carpathia's cod supports, and I was wondering if you even still needed the supports from the original file. Because that would significantly cut down on the page count. Oh and I've decided that I will be doing the Hayabusa permutation, just because it looks cool and there aren't very many on the forums.

i doubt you would need the original supports if you use Carpathias. but maybe shoot him a PM and ask :)

Ok everyone I have an update. So first off I want to show the legendary helmet I got off ebay for like $20, I only got it for inspiration as most people do.

DSC01507_zps826638b1.jpg

Then (after I rondoed about half of the shin) I realized it was too small. So I scaled it up a few inches and this is what I have

DSC01513_zps0e969c95.jpg
DSC01514_zps701fe0ec.jpg

And I split it down the ''spine'' to make the width a bit smaller.

DSC01515_zps56d48cdf.jpg

And a side-by-side of the 1st and second,(the first is the smaller one.)
DSC01512_zps3051ed00.jpg

And then since I am changing the armor type to Hayabusa, I wanted a different color than green. So I went with a light blue. I also put some bondo and battle damage on the boot, and made the middle details.

Looks great. What did you use for the black part on the boot?

If you are pointing to the 'middle' detail, then I took little strips of craft foam and folded and glued them in half. I made a lot of those and glued them all together. Hope this helps!

yep i was going to try this once i get to work on my good suit as a less expensive alternate to the plunger.

Ok, I was going to take pictures but when I went downstairs my floor was SOAKED. And im going on vacation for a few weeks. But I have made progress. I've finished the right leg, almost pepped the cod, and made a system where I can put a magnum on my right thigh. When I get back I may have time so take pictures and maybe finish pepping the cod, just because we are moving right after I get home from Oklahoma. I am also worried that the thigh may be too small, or the shin may be too big. There will most likely be no updates for the next few weeks.

Ok everyone, I am currently in the process of preparing to move! So that means I cant work on anything, or take pictures because all the armor is packed up. We are actually moving in a few days and our stuff wont be to our new house for maybe a week. So no updates in that time frame. See you soon!

Hi so I'm working on my Mk VI armor and I was wondering what boots you are using for your build.
Thanks, Castro

Those are Magnum 8" tactical boots. (Not sure about the actual model though).

I actually wear the 6" Vipers all the time, have been since 2007. They're very comfortable and extremely durable. Well worth their price. You might be able to get them cheaper at Sports Authority, which is where I get mine.

Could build how long did it take you

Thanks! For the thigh, shin, and boot I would say maybe a week or two. Keep in mind I didnt do very much bondo on the pieces so they were a bit rough. Sometime in the future I hope to rebuild this suit in foam. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply.

Little tip, but you gotta slow down on the painting if that's the final paint job...it's killing the rest of it. If you just take some more time, it will turn out better.
