Rethread zander013 foam Halo 3 Mark VI armour

Currently working on a Spartan 3 like armor set with different pieces and parts like ima lone soldier picking up pieces and parts from the UNSC and going on my merry way

This is my very first Pep i did and its a SPI helmet like the S3s wore in Ghost of Onxy. Didnt think about taking WIP pics for this but as u can see it is very poorly made and im tempted to redo it just to make it look better this one ive gotten Fiberglassed and resined just to see how it fits.

Started working on a Mark V helmet but my cat landed on it but it was coming along nicely untill then can post WIP pics of it being up together if liked.

After the Helmet Fiasco i figured i would move onto the chest piece and see how i can do with that

I set it on its front to show what that back looks like without the front piece attached



This is the back part standing up with my hand kinda as a reference of the size of the back armor Im a standard XL glove


Standing up After i got the front Mostly done with the "Vest Compartments" Attached

Side and Back view of it free standing its a lil tilted because of a fold that was to far but once its resined it will be fine.

More work will be coming im working on contacting JUSTINIAN 117 for some smgs and maybe a BR if hes got any extras luckly im in the local area of him so it helps a bit

Ive found taking spare time to relax and let your eyes rest helps alot and taking you time on you cuts and glueing also when doin multiple glues in one part helps if you tac one piece in the proper place and using the hot glue gun to melt the wax enough to peel the tab away and peel the excess off.

More to come depending on what i get done next either the biceps and sholders or putting resin on the outside of the armor and glassing the inside of it ill keep everyone posted

my resined odst armor talked to justinian n hes out of smgs n there a lil out of my price range but maybe we will be ableto barter something for a cheaper set but its coming along im working on spray painting my helmet n looking into getting a visor if anyone knows where to geeta cheap visor I can use it would be great I looked into the etsy guy with the helmet mold but hes selling it all I doubt hell have visors.

got my hands on a dremel so I cut it out my visor so now it just needs padding the visor and cutting out thw side holes for meshing for breathableness

I think this is the first time I've seen a true to canon SIII build (obviously we don't have full spi armor but h2 armor should do nicley) good luck!

got half my chest fiberglassed n its coming out well really tempted to scrap the helmet since it looks bad

Ok well interesting last couple of days the constant weather changes has kept me from getting any glassing done so im behind on my chest but i have gotten both of my shin Peps done my right leg as it was about half way done


Both of my shins done now i needa resin glass and attach the hooks to help keep um in a position that's going to keep them from limiting movement while being comfy


and this is me just being bored and trying to cheer up the gf lulz

next is either thighs or biceps deciding tomorrow

i guess its time to update this thread ive scrapped all of my old pep stuff in desire for a easier lighter build.

here are my forearms almost completed, one of them is the same as the other since i was working on my glueing technique and it helped alot



about an hour and a half into my build on my chest



heres my completed chest front and back look its all the same color i used my flash on one and not on the other


probably tomorrow im goin to split my chest and do a light coat of resin and clasp it together the goin to do my shoulders the next day or 2 if i feel better

ahh, a foam convert, nice.
are you finding this go around substantially easier? I really want to give spartan making a try but I only build suits with foam and can't muster the confidence to take on a build of that complexity yet.

Also curious to see the resin coating over foam. If that can hold up decently well without cracking then you may have solved a huge problem for me :thumbsup haha

try building something simple like a forearm or thigh and see how you like it from there thats how i did it i acutally did 3 forearms 2 of the right arm one as a guideline and testing my gluing skills and for the resining im not sure how it will turn out its something a prop building friend told me i should try so i was goin to go do that at his shop today but i wasnt feeling well enough earlier to go so maybe tomorrow or monday ill go over there and do that but im goin to be trying to build my shoulders tonite and do my legs and thighs when i get more 110lb paper i used the last for printing my shoulders

the armor cut in half but before i put the clasps to hold it all in place. im kinda over weight so the sides dont hook together



untill i lose weight ive either add an extension or not clasp the side until i do



finished my shoulder last night it looks good but untill i get the strapping to make my holder to go in between my Armour and the undersuit when i chose what im goin to use

cool!!

planning on starting my under harness tomorrow if i can figure out the best way to do it and then do my thighs after that its been a busy couple of days my mum came into town so i havnt had the time to work on anything.

if anyone knows where the post of the underharness guide if you could link it i would appreciate it
