EVA Foam ODST build *PIC HEAVY*

Hey guys!
Got another update on the SMG, after I picked up some more Hot Glue! I've also decided it's going to be roughly 4cm thick, meaning it's going to have 2cm of base layer, then the 2cm for the detailing, one of which is just about done.
Here's what it looks like so far!






I'm thinking of putting popsicle sticks into the stock for the added strength, but I'm also thinking of buying either a wooden or metal ruler to strengthen it instead.

Hey guys!
Last night, I managed to get the stock of the SMG done, and although both bases aren't glued together yet, here's what I've gotten so far!
I used a new technique where instead of cutting the piece in half, I just cut it a little, and ran over it with my heat gun, which produced similar if not the same results, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!





I'm going to work on it more tonight, and hopefully pick up a metal ruler as a strengthener for the stock, but other than that, that's all for now!

This project is definitely getting there!

Hey guys!
So last night I managed to work on the SMG some more, and just about finish it! All that's left is making the reloadable magazine, sanding, Plasti-dipping, and painting, then it's 100% complete!









I'm going to either work some more on this on the weekend, or take a break, given that exams are coming up soon. Check back, as I will be posting, even if it isn't updates.

Hey guys!
So during the week, I started the thigh and hip plates, but when I first made them, they came out too small. So last night, I decided to work on a new set, and I've just finished both hip and thigh plates, and they've come out looking really nice! Here's what they look like: (On new, RED foam XD)









I'm going to take a bit of a break until exams finish, and then work on the Chest, the legs and the helmet!

So it's been three weeks since an update, because of exams. And I'm back for more!
Over the past two days, I've been working on mainly the chest piece base, which is almost done, minus the little shoulder padding thingies.


As simple as this part should have been, I had the most trouble with it, mainly getting it to fit me right, as well as strangulation, which was a huge issue, causing me to edit the neck hole significantly. I also glued things wrong and burnt the foam a little bit, so I guess I know what not to do now
Once the base is done (as in fully done) I'll add clips to hold the shoulder pieces in place, so that they sit on my arms better, and don't slide down.

In between, I also worked on a mini project, which was making an Mk VI helmet (which was waaay to big for me so now'll be made as a display piece).


I plan on having a full set of Mk VI gear in the future, after this ODST is done.

Hi everyone!
So after a long pause (what has it been, 6 months?) I've gotten back into working the ODST armour!
I haven't made too much lately, and am thinking about re-doing the chest that I made, but I started working on the helmet (thought I'm told it's too small soooo yeah).
But this is the helmet so far!





I might make another helmet after I finish this one, or might make a cast of the outside (seeing as the foam thickness is 10mm, so it might make it bigger ever so slightly)

Nice to see another ODST drop in. I followed DFT's tutorial as well, but had different shoulders and pepped my helmet, which is currently slated for rework.

Looking good so far though!

I'm probably going to make an MA5B out of foam when I finish the helmet, and might see if I can figure out a way to make the helmet bigger by casting it somehow
