Hey all, I had some time the past two days so I put together an M6 with some foam scraps I had left over

it not perfect but i am pretty happy with it, it being my first foam gun and all. Again i learned a lot just building this little thing.

I finished my M6 SOCOM and I added some magnets to the gun and the thigh plate so I can holster it when I want, I am probably going to get some stronger magnets though so I don't lose my gun.

Love the Drop Holster Affect may be a feature i add to mine at a later date. Great work!
it wasnt hard to do and it looks cool. I only used a dremel to put a hole in the gun and glued in some magnets, it is simple but very useful. Having a place to put your gun while you are standing around is really nice haha

Looks awesome. Nice clean pep work on the helmet btw! :D
Thank you! I was really happy with the pep, it was a real bummer when I dropped it when putting the resin on. It got a big old dent that needs to be bent back with heat after every cast.

They do magnetically attach to the thigh piece in the games... Sucks that the piece got a dent in it from dropping while getting resined. Can't wait to see how this all progresses! :D

quick update, I am still trying to make my own vac form but in the meantime I ended up buying a visor from headshot props. it was not really the right size but i made it work.

So I am remaking a few parts of my ODST. I wanted to remake the legs, gauntlets, and the chest plate thing. I am starting with the legs as they are prob going to take the longest. I am using the Hugh files to make the new parts after being inspired by m00sema4n and his build.

I have the new and old leg next to each other, I still need to make the knee.

It is nice now because the old leg was a little to tall so the knee got in the way of the thigh plate a lot. that shouldn't be an issue with the new leg

That new shin looks fantastic! And I would second your remark on the legs taking the longest, that was certainly the case with mine, but well worth it I think. I remember that 1/2" EVA really fighting me on those curves even with a heat gun, looks like yours are holding a nice shape though. That new visor is on point as well, how's the visibility? I would like something like that.

Anyway, all looks well and so glad to hear my thread could provide any use/motivation, thx for the mention :thumbsup

ya the 1/2" foam was being a real pain on the curves, I had to square off some parts because the foam wouldn't bend and had to use contact cement rather than hot glue. As for the visor the visibility actually isn't that bad, it is a lot better than the old visor I had. When I got it, it came with a silver finish on the inside but it was still to transparent for my liking so I hit it with some very light coats of chrome spray paint.

pic of my work area with and without the visor.

with good lighting it has good reflective look

alright one leg is finished and has been plasti dip'd, after doing all this I realize I have to remake the thigh pieces anyway now because they are constantly hitting the knee and I don't like where they sit on my leg anyway. Plus with the gun holster it was a little awkward. SO... that's another piece to be rebuilt on the list. Along with all that I had forgotten that I never put plasti dip on any of the other pieces of armor so now the texture and colors don't match. So I have to repaint everything! YAY! YOU ROCK PAST ME! It actually isnt that bad because I wanted to go in and fill some seams on the other pieces anyway so it kind of works into the plan.

Wow, that knee holder is a clever use of space. I've thought about going a little crazy and having my phone docked inside the chest piece to have music playing out the back, but yours is far more practical. :p

alright made the new breastplate and I will be painting it up tomorrow. this was the only part i was changing on the chest.
