I hereby officially object to the new logo, do not recognize it as official, and refuse to put it on any of my armor, and refuse to wear it at all. On armor or other apparel.

The one that Rachel made, despite any possible or potential copyright, looks better, by far.

With the colors, and the blockiness, it looks like we're all about wheat and white castle. There's more to the midwest than freaking wheat. We have the Motor City, Chicago, the birthplace of aviation, Indianapolis, The Upper Penninsula, Oshkosh, etc., and they picked stupid wheat to use for inspiration.

I'm on board with this, I don't like it in the least bit and also feel that it is very unintuitive.

We understand that you have taken exception to the new logo. That is within your rights.

I must say that the initial creation point submitted by all of you, considering the design criteria at the time given, had considerable thought behind them and as such it was a key piece of criteria in developing these lock-ups. I wanted to address several key points looked at during this process:
• Each Unit had something that was endemic to the region you serve, an icon if you will. We realize that each region is different and icons and colors were used to emote this in each lock-up. These were heavily debated. Elements present in your designs that needed to remain were left intact in some form or fashion.
• Each piece was scrutinized for line weight and conformity of angles. The 405th hexes were a huge design detail that allowed us to bring these all in to the 26th century.
• We avoided all reference and or imagery elements that were intellectual property owned by 343i, Microsoft and Bungie.
• We kept all logos at most to 2 colors with the inclusion of white.
• All typefaces have been standardized in accordance with the 405th Style Guide.
• Lastly we looked at all of these as a whole and how they related to each other.

This was a long and arduous process. Having said all of this, I am proud to say that we have them completed and the style guides for them will be forthcoming soon explaining use. In the interim however we wanted to put these in the hands of you, the RCO’s and you ONLY. THESE ARE NOT TO BE SHARED WITH MEMBERS YET.
We are sharing these with you first. We will begin rolling these out to members next week. We hope you like these as much as we do.

Will having the old logo make us less official?

The old logo cannot be used due to the use of the top view of Master Chief helmet.

As outlined in the post above:
"We avoided all reference and or imagery elements that were intellectual property owned by 343i, Microsoft and Bungie."

I am trying to find the threads for the logo processing. Did we open it to the midwest memberships? Was this done by a small hand picked groups?

This was not done by voting. It could not be. The regimental commanders did have access to the proposed files before hand, and some of them did chime in and state that things needed tweeked. The team who were working on it then took those recommendations and did tweeking.

I don't really care about the process, the result was bad, not agreed upon by the members, and forced upon everyone with no say.

How the expletive could it not have been?! We had one of our own members design 3 of them, all for free in free time, and we all voiced an opinion, and suggested edits/tweaks, and changes were made until we came to an agreement. And somehow it couldn't been the same way for the 405th as a whole?

All of the regiments have logos created by their own people. All of them have been changed to make them all more unified, and a consistent look to them. The basis of each logo was kept as best as was possible. The people who made the fist logos did amazing work. But for the 405th as a whole, and for the official membership of the 405th, everything had to be closer together. That you have taken exception to it is fine. You are allowed to take exception to it. The issue though is that the old logo will not be allowed to be used on anything official from this point on. For those items that have been made with old logos before this date, they are allowed, but are to be phased out.

I'm sorry, I prefer to use proper English, I thought the correction would be appreciated. If me trying to help someone use proper words is disrespect than I apologize.

Understood, let me fix that then for you.

We can understand if you do not like the logo, we cant simply please everyone. If we picked a design and colors that you may like then there will be another group of members that wouldn't like it. Honestly, I can relate but we did this on a greater move to have all regiments to be unified.

But our logo doesn't at all fit with the rest of them scheme wise or colors wise?

I really don't understand where the inspiration of this logo came from for something out of the Midwest USA.

Why does that sound like some socialist agenda? Why is it that the regiments couldn't have created their own logos(with input from their own members), sent them in for approval to the 405th admin team, then tweaked as needed? How exactly could that not have been done?

We did release a "preview" to the Regiment staff members, this was your response:

Not really a fan of that yellow being in the Midwest logo. That color scheme is also very similar to what the unofficial Michigan misfits use and there could be confusion there.

We changed the color per your feedback. No other feedback was given at the time.

My feedback? I don't see my feedback anywhere other than the original post in this thread. Again, how is it that the process that I laid out could not have been used to create a more harmonious result?

All feedback was given to my CO at that time, I informed him that I did not like the logo in any color and that I would not be wearing it anywhere on my armor or on anything that I own.

It's quite clear that our objections do not matter here and nobody is listening. It's sad.
