I wish you the best of luck noble. 
For scaling foam by the way since i saw you ask like 4 weeks ago. To scale foam id say use the same method of scaling for normal pep. But what you want to do is account for the thickness of the foam you are using. so if you are using half inch foam then make sure you scale up a little bit for it.
Also there is this nifty tool in pep designer called measure distance between two point. I usually scale my model then use that on the 3D model and check the distance between two points on the inside of the piece. For example, if im scaling a helmet and i use the measure between two points thing, i will will not click on the outside of the 3D model. I hope this is making sense. If not im sorry :-(
