Whats up y'all...finally time for my build thread to start...those that dont know me names Matt part of southern Reg.. this is my first build(note horrible pep work) and or costume i have ever done...
Decided i was gonna start this build with 3 months on the build clock before Dragon Con 2015 this year and this is my journey so far.
I wanted to do a noble 6 commando kinda style for my build and would be made out of pepakura and some pieces casted..
First huge, huge shout out to Jim McCrea of stony props for the amazing cast work on the helmet and help with the visor after melting and cracking the motorcyle lens i tried. Also shout out to both TheRedArmory and HeadShotProps
as well for casted items you guys are awesome.
now on with the pics !

now heres were i had a problem tried using a motorcyle lens and angle was to extreme for helmet and started to crack and melt when trying to heat it and bend it to fit...so plan b my advice to anyone doing a mark v (b) helmet get the mirrored film from Jim McCrea at Iconprops worked perfect because i was able to bend it any way i wanted to make it fit.

after a little dry brush work
now on to the LEDS...after a trip to the wonderful local radioshack hardware isle.. i picked up 9vs,4 aaa battey pack with switch, some wiring, switches, 2 types of blue LEDS one round 6v
and one flat 3.8v.got a total of 6 LEDS 4 for helmet and 2 for chest piece later on.so to do the side leds ( where i cut the hole in the side) i used a piece of plexi glass i cut little bigger than a bottle cap and sanded the plexi glass for a frosted look
then used a bottle cap to keep in light/hold LED in side

.next for side vents used square piece of plexiglass and frosted it aswell and used the square LED for it.

Finished all the LEDs

Your pep work looks good actually! Those are the same files I used for my suit back in the day :cool Keep up the build!

How did you do the blue lighting in your helmet? I mean, did you just put the lights in with nothing to redirect where the light goes? Was curious on the housing, I like the affect of your blue face! With that said... Hows vision with that? With the visor added, did you lose that affect?

With the side leds(round ones) as you can see I used a circle piece of plexi glass and than a bottle cap to direct/keep in light...now for the side vent leds it's a square piece of plexi and simply just hot glued the square led I had to light that piece up...but with no where to direct it as you can see it lights up everything inside the helmet...as far as seeing out the lens it does create a glare from the lights..in normal light rooms it's fine I can deal with the glare and still see but if it's dark room forget it I cant see anything out the lens I mean it's tinted anyway but still very difficult..i actually thought about covering the back side last night so it doesn't blind me anymore when I wear it but I will lose the light on my face...most conventions I attend it's usually pretty well light areas so Idk i might just leave it ... hope that helps
