Hello everyone! Not much to show here, but here is the plan. For the under suit at least. I've gone ahead and deleted the geometry that I wouldn't be focusing on now. And, yes I will be pepping this! Then mold, and casting. After that, apply a silicone, or rubber like mixture to make a wearable under suit. Taking it upon myself to bring out the details to the mesh. Maybe not the really small areas at the bottom, off the side of the abdomen, but every thing else for sure. Not saying this going to be easy, but I'm definitely gonna give it a shot! Although my experience is lacking as far as 3d modeling goes, I'm hoping to get some direction in getting this file detailed.

So with that being said, looking forward to feed to any feedback!

Looking good....beast mode

Thanks bud! My other option would be to pep this, harden it , then add details with sculpting clay. With trying to keep the cost down, I wanna capture as much detail in pep as possible.

This looks absolutely amazing! Ya it might be hot to wear all day, but man its freaking cool.
Where did you find the undersuit file, or did you render it yourself? Do you have the rest of the suit, arms and legs? Last question, would be willing to send me a copy, please, please, please?:$

Maybe so, to be honest for the most part I can't stand cold weather. Here in Louisiana, during summer time it gets pretty hot anyways. Kinda used to it, tomorrow its supposed to be in the 80's. No biggy. Yes, it was a custom render by me. The file can be found in the archive in the Halo5 section. And for the rest of the suit yes. All I did was delete the geometry of the legs and arms in Blender. Thats why they are missing in the renders.:D

I must be blind (old age:wacko)!! I can't find that file to save my life. You don't by chance chance a second to post the link to it do you?:confused
I don't want to be a bother, but one of the next suits my son wants is the Achilles armor from h5, and this undersuit is perfect.

So if you happen to own this helmet. Your in for a treat! Aside from owning this helm, and you've pepped the MC helm file made by MasterBuilder . This is just for you! (MC helm must pepped with the height scaled to 300mm. Today, I was thinking how the heck am gonna grind out all the nice details that are missing from the pep file. Well, this is what I came up with, lol!

Get yourself some playdo. Place it where you would like to capture the detail. Make sure you press it in real good. Working it throughout the whole piece of playdo with your thumb, or fingers.

Have a little excess on the edges running over so you can have enough to pull the playdo out without messing up the detail. And this is what you should get.

You need to put about a 1/8th layer thick of hotglue on your female mold. I recommend big glue gun. Covers more area rather quickly.

Couple of minutes of cleanup. Playdo is re-usable!:D

WOW. The arm pieces look outstanding! O_O But damn, they are huuuuuge! :D

As for the helmet - damn, that's great way of cheating :D I approve! :D Easy and fast. :D

As for the undersuit - I agree, if you are going to cast it like that you will die in it because you won't be able to breathe, your skin I mean... unless you like to swim? :D
As a side note - if you're going with Halo 5 undersuit - you WANT to remove the hexagon pattern on the hips and stomach. 343i's final version has hex pattern only on small part of the chest and shoulders and nowhere else.

Yeah there big. With the rest of the armor it will look proportionate. For the helm, its a steal. Can't get better than that! For the under suit I'll figure something out. Thanks!:D

After 2 hours of resining this bad boy, a sigh of relief. Think I'm going separate them, front half and back half. Then maybe start glassing the internals sometime this week.

You deserve a special thanks from me. Thank very much for the help with the choice of selecting the slow Epoxamite resin from Smooth-on. So nice to not have to rush everything with the resining process!

Looking great buddy!

Thanks D1!

So, got it separated. Was wondering if I should just go ahead, and fiberglass it? Even though it has only one coat of resin on the outside, I think it was a pretty hefty coat, leaving the torso pretty saturated. Or next should I put a resin coat on the inside without the fiberglass? Also, still needs resin on the areas where the front, and back was separated.

One more thing, does anyone recommend using a adhesive spray to stick the fiberglass to the parts before applying the resin?
