Here are a few more pieces painted in green. Black wash and dry brushing yet to come. These pics make the green look very jade-ish, but it's really just olive green. Enjoy!! Oh,and I cut out the holes for the lights on the shoulders.

What is that in the middle? The lower chest piece?

Correct. That is the "ab plate", if you will, of the chest piece. That chest piece was a huge ordeal, and is basically what made me quit this whole build a little over a year ago. I'll cover that in a post to come...

Your build looks great! The details are awesome!

Thanks Reclaimer! It's allll about the details, haha

dude that suit is starting to look epic!

Thank you! I've barely even scratched the surface on this thing, lol.

Later today I'll get you guys an update and some pics of the chest piece. This chest piece thing is killing me! I came up with quite a bit of a trick to make it work, but I believe it will be awesome in the end. Now, to finish my work day and get back home to post again!

ACTUALLY, I do have an update. I have a few pics of the biceps painted:

I'm really happy with how the masked off stripes came out. I've never done any kind of two layer painting like that

Excellent work on this! There haven't been too many of these builds done so it's nice to see another pop up! If you choose not to build the helmet, and happen to be in the market for an FUD helmet and don't know where to look, send me a message, I've got you covered. If you'd like to see more about it, you can use the link in my signature. Keep up the greatwork and I look forward to seeing more on this! :D

Thank you!! I know, right?? Not many builds for FUD, probably a direct result of very poor pep files. I wonder why no one ever made some good ones???? But yeah, funny you mention the helmet: I already have one!! AND, I literally just got a new visor for it cuz the first one I ordered was very see-through :/ Didn't really like having to spend that money again...

Well awesome then! I'm not sure why there haven't been better files made for it. The suit is one of the best in my opinion. We do have the direct fit visors available for the FUD helmet should you decide you'd like one. They are very reflective and offer great visibility. Just throwing it out there. Either way, I'm sure it'll turn out great!

That's the visor i'm talking about. The first one I ordered was very see through. I could see my face in a mirror when I put it in the helmet. That's why I just got a new one. The new one is much more reflective. Would really like to send the first one back...

Man, your build looks fantastic! Your pep folds are so clean. Total inspiration for me lol.
And I really like that you chose the FUD chief suit. Kudos my friend.

That's very flattering, thank you. Good armor comes from good, clean, not rushed, pep. Yeah, i love this suit, but it was really difficult trying to figure out how to make it look like the actual suit, and not the low res pep files version. Took a while, but totally worth it. It's coming together

THE CHEST PIECE:

Alright, so I'm making a big deal out of this chest piece because this is the piece that took me the most time of figuring out how to make it work, and have it look like the one in the movie. Also, it's such a focal point of a suit of armor, just like a helmet, so I wanted to get it looking as best as I can. Reason why this was so tricky and time consuming and needed so much engineering: THE PEP FILE. This is what made me totally give up and quit this build over a year ago. The file has basically no detail, and is extremely disproportionate to how it looks in FUD. I pepped out the whole thing, threw it away and gave up....

Fast forward a year, I decided to pep a new slightly larger chest piece for my Tucker. While still in just cardstock form, I for some reason started looking back at the FUD chest piece. Discovering that the back of FUD and the MK VI are very similar in shape/size/dimension, just different raised and indented details. AND, since the chest portion of the FUD pep is actually somewhat close to the movie, I got this crazy idea of "I could just cut the MKVI in half, and through gluing, fiberglass and bondo, marry the two sections together and create a hybrid", but with taking out the details of the MK VI back, and cutting in my own to make it FUD style. So, here's how it started:

Added in my own support to brace the bottom:

cut in a few details on the sides of the pec area:

Lemme know what you guys think so far. Will post pics of the detailing later as it comes along.
