I bought a roll of bright blue LEDs, a 9V battery and connector, push button switch and a plastic fillable ball from Jo-Ann fabrics.

I drilled a hole for the switch, connected the wires and inserted the battery.

I then filled the ball with the string of blue LEDs and carefully closed it back up. I then buffed the outside of the ball to dilute the direct light from the LEDs. uploadfromtaptalk1439255592007.jpg

Next, I covered the ball using a hot glue gun. This was to give it an organic/plasma feel and look. I gave it bumps and points with the hot glue.

Now, to light it up.

I'm very happy with the way it came out. The camera had trouble focusing on it because it was super bright. In all, it cost about $15-20 and took about 2 hours once everything was delivered.
