Skool me on latex gang!

I have a positive cast of my hands that I will be coating in a layer of clay, to sculpt the details of the Iron Man under-glove - the flexible underglove that goes under the armour, but has parts exposed under the finger joints and up the wrist.

Similar to what you can see here under the armour.

I'm going to slush cast the gloves inside a negative mold once I have cast it from the detail-sculpted positive. I'd like recommendations what the best product/material would be and where I can source it. I live in Canberra, Australia.

Ok, 98 views and no answers. Must be a very specialised craft.

I found this stuff locally which I believe will do the job. Can anyone here tell me if I can put a tint or colour in it that will be opaque enough to get close to the gauntlet in the OP?

I had considered a response, but I was doing some research of my own before entering it, just in case I fuzzed up the facts and pointed you in the wrong direction.

As far as I'm aware, it is possible to tint latex rubbers to get them to the colour you'd want. I haven't gotten this far in my own research, and I'd have to ask my Science Guy for more, but it should be feasible.

Thanks mate. I've been looking online too and also rang the art supply store today to ask. Very hard to find specific answers to.

Looks like I can't get it from the US to Australia. I'll have to find something similar here.

Just wondering what I should coat the mold with before pouring the latex so it doesn't stick to the mold.

U can ask ted from evil ted Smith. He works with latex to seal foam. You can also ask bill Doran (punished props on youtube) he uses acrylic paint for leather. Maybe they can help you

Couple of questions...

Before I pour plaster of Paris over my clay-sculpted hands, Should I lacquer them first to make them very shiny and slippery-smooth? Then Vaseline as a release agent?

Will the clay coating break off when I remove the plaster mold? I really want to preserve the clay-sculpt so once the latex is poured into the mold, I can keep sculpting over them to do the armour layers.
