critique on my armor so far?

note this is my FIRST ATTEMPT just gotta detail and paint the lower body!

so heres an update! i am makin my own character and armor halo 4 back with halo 3 chest plate!

update!!!!!!! 90% complete! shins, butt pad are all thats left and maybe some boots plus more LEDs!

this is all free hand and eyeballing the armor! thank you for your opinion it helps a ton!

would you have any recommended materials for making the assault rifle? id really appreciate it!

Well, you'd probably get the most realistic version of the AR if you used foam. All you'd have to do is just make a schematic and cut out the pieces. I'm planning on making mine with cardboard.
As for how you'd put it together, superglue would probably be the best method.

No problem! Try making a posterboard cutout of the rifle at full scale. That way you can test how it feels and how you'd hold it without having to build it first. If it's too big or too small, then you can scale it down and build it with the right sizes.

The more planning you do ahead of time when scratch-building, the less work you'll have to do later trying to cover things up later with the details.
