Well, here goes, with the help of my buddy over at Dutch Props, I'm kicking off the Spartan Buck suit. You can follow along more closely on face book at Beavercreek Proving Grounds, I'll try to keep things updated here too. Helmet will be 3d printed, molded and cast with original file from Dutch, armor will be a foam build... still working on that part.

It's awesome that you and others are tackling this build. I really like Buck's suit in Halo 5. I'm looking forward to the progress of this build.

This is pretty killer, I have been looking for H5 buck armor for pep, but this is really awesome !!!!

so am I the only one that's noticed that buck even after joining the Spartan 4 program remained an ODST when he could have picked any other type of armor?

That's looking really good so far. I'm always jealous of people with access to a 3D printer. Subbed, looking forward to seeing the rest.

Well he does say he preferred being an ODST to being a spartan in game. Also, I get the feeling Spartan Buck characterization is largely based off of Nathan Fillion's, who tends to be sentimental about that sort of thing.

Okay, here goes, Helmet test paint a success. Armor file obtained and printing, custom undersuit in the planning phase.

I used a combination of masking tape and toothpaste to mask of for the camo pattern, it was rather time consuming but I think the overall effect worked out. It very hard to match colors from reference images for Buck as the camo pattern is ver subtle and the colors are washed out, kinda wingin it here with what I think looked good.

As usual Jeff over at Dutch props has outdone himself with the armor files. These things are insanely well done, I hope I can do them justice
