Hey guys! So it seems my earlier topic was either deleted or missing... so here is my SAW reposted.
I finished it! Please let me know how I did, I worked very hard ;P
Any suggestions would be appreciated and I welcome constructive criticism.

The whole thing is made of cardboard and PVC piping. I spray painted it and primed it with latex primer, and added smaller details in with model paint.
This is my first build and I'm excited to be a part of this community finally.

Looks good.. did you make any templates or will we have to tackle it by ourselves?

Well like I said this is my first build, I didn't think that far ahead :p

I DO however have WIP photos, would you be interested in seeing those? I show a lot of detail and I could probably give you measurements.

You asked for it, you got it. Here are all my WIP photos to date, I'll include explanations for what is happening throughout the photos
12004137_751144148365579_5055632430843711745_n.jpg

SO! First I printed out a 1/2 scale version and multiplied everything I measured by 2. The original SAW is 45 inches long so I printed out a version 3 pages long, that was 27.5 inches.
11224169_751144188365575_394887240353753742_n.jpg

Here you can see my measurements that I traced.
10420367_751144225032238_338779330916902085_n.jpg

Here I cut out the first piece on ultra-heavy cardboard to give it some stability.
12031992_751144255032235_8564165289161585542_n.jpg

Here I cut out a replica of the first piece to glue them together; I also have my magnum in the background (I may post the finished product of that too). Now I had my starting template.
12033024_751144261698901_1349172840604186694_n.jpg

Drawing the sides of the drum mag. I was about 3 inches off in diameter for this so it isn't to scale... I'm sure no one notices though, it's just a pet peeve of mine.
12009602_751144325032228_4908829046935446758_n.jpg

First circle cut out, I glued a carboard tube to the middle so I could strengthen the mag.
12004844_751144335032227_8536000015942770288_n.jpg

More strengthening
11999005_751144391698888_3640953544984727728_n.jpg

A lot was done in between this photo and the last, sorry. I glued a long, rectangular piece around the middle piece (and thus the middle circular piece around the cardboard tube had to be slightly smaller in diameter so as to accomodate for the extra cardboard being glued around it)
12006361_751144448365549_1888457072908286977_n.jpg

Some details coming together.
12011367_751144478365546_7798894328114270105_n.jpg

I put down sharpie dots for the holes drilled on the front of the saw to be drilled in, at an inch away from each other with a half inch offset between rows.
12004864_751144481698879_676996723562888846_n.jpg

Here you can see I drilled the holes (albeit with an unfortunate anomaly on the right side).
12009643_751144495032211_2875871891883807962_n.jpg

The other side looks much cleaner, and if you look closely you can see I accidentally drilled an extra hole on the left side. I filled it up with caulk in the end though so in the final product you can't tell.
You can also see me speculating how the barrel will look eventually.
11998829_751144881698839_7859774018119539958_n.jpg

A butt-ton of details I added in were lost from photos as I was so focused I forgot to take pictures :p
You can probably replicate the details; it's just a ton of layers cut to different shapes.
As for the drum mag, you can see how I added in other details to the outer ring on the backside. I curved the circular shape in to a smaller circle I glued using small strips (they look stupid now but I seal them up). I also attached nails to the top of the mag so that I could insert it into the gun. The hole in the middle of the mag on the backside is where an anchor nail attaches just in front of the trigger housing. Once all the nails are inserted the mag stays put, and can be removed simply by pulling out the anchor nail and then pulling. There are two pilot holes drilled under the upside down "U" shape where the mag goes. You can't see them but the top two nails insert into them snugly.

More details shown
11995958_751144905032170_7224085764645914139_n.jpg

now the FUN part :D The barrel! PVC cutting took a SUPER long time, because of all the measurements and such. I'll see if I can measure the exact pieces after I post this and I can give them to you.
You can kind of see how the pieces fit together but I'll show it anyway.

This is the real barrel as a reference photo.
11053605_751144991698828_1065779801987405454_n.jpg

All barrel pieces glued together, you can figure out where each piece went easily.
11225078_751145005032160_6006564716600904707_n.jpg

The entire thing! I'm close to finished!
12006137_751145041698823_508872430691145396_n.jpg

I re-purposed my speculative pieces as anchors for the barrel (The previous photo, the barrel was not physically attached. It was just sitting on top, balancing.)
The pieces fit in snugly and I glued them.
12033084_751145058365488_7420794959664575045_n.jpg

I drilled a large and deep pilot hole for the barrel anchor do slip into. This barrel was not going to be falling out if I could help it.
12003300_751145055032155_7377098122183880352_n.jpg

It was so satisfying to see how well it fit :D
11217544_751145098365484_5633821105021117328_n.jpg

The barrel anchor was coated in glue and slipped into the pilot hole, and now we have our preliminary, unpainted, unsealed model. I was so happy I had gotten this far without giving up.
10987436_751145135032147_6766328067229297110_n.jpg

A quick reference.

12032105_751145205032140_5505182360698886090_n.jpg

I used white silicone caulk to seal up ugly areas and anomalies.

Ok, there's all my WIP! Let me know how it is and if I should show paint WIP as well.

Wow bro! This prop is amazing! I always love to see people make amazing replicas. Definitely one of my most favorite SAW replicas ever! =D

I did post the WIP Boros, lol.
If you mean the paint photos then yea I have them, here they are.

12096475_760991407380853_8537109116639321178_n.jpg

Priming went well with the latex primer, lots of white.

A coat of straight gray for the drum mag
12072578_760991427380851_157480820730579639_n.jpg

Taping up where I don't want the black
12043178_760991454047515_157429819088593691_n.jpg

Finished mag, without dry brush, and I did the orange stripe with old paint which cracked. It worked out though, because I wanted that old fashioned look :)
12122795_760991444047516_6687924785615782215_n.jpg

primed gun with barrel, had to take a picture.

Pretty much the only photos I have from the body paint, sorry :/
I taped up the lower areas so I could get some light grey for the higher areas.
Well that's about it, so all WIP photos are here now!

Thanks dude! Not to mention I've only seen about 3 SAW props so far. It doesn't seem to popular a choice haha, even though it's the most beast weapon in halo 4.
Go check out Protagonist4Hire's SAW. His is way better lol.

welcome to the cardboard union of the UNSC, because I've got that on a back burner right now I've got a beam rifle and needler on the top so yeah, but hey if you do any other weapons let me know I might be able to help with some of the details.

Looks real enough! To real! Careful! But that is so cool!

Aw thanks man, I tried my best but I still feel I missed a lot of details haha

I appreciate that! I plan on doing either a sticky detonator or a Railgun next, I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have!
