Halo Cosplay

Hello! I'm starting to create my own armor for the Tucson Comic Con but I have very limited time to get it finished (Nine weeks.) I've never created anything with EVA foam before so I need some tips on speeding up the process. The gauntlets are complete and shoulders are almost done, my real concern is the chest as I already have the helmet. Any help is accepted, thanks.
