Update on the assault rifle. I have only a little bit more work to do on it and I'm done.

Are you using foam of pep?

honestly i just jumped right in with a paper pep, fiber glass and filler as a researched a lot about people taking that path but i am very interested in using foam as well at some point as i am fascinated by all the different techniques that can be used with it and i have seen lots of amazing foam builds

Your first build turned out great, locostorm! Only thing for the second go around is the sizing. The body looks good, but the helmet could have been a bit smaller. I really like how it shines though. I think Caboose would approve! :D

thank you! yes the helmet could have been smaller but it is foam on a old motorcycle helmet so it kinda had to be that big. do you have any advice for the assault rifle?

I take it back then, that's pretty awesome that you converted a motorcycle helmet into a Halo helmet. :)

I haven't made any weapons yet, so nothing super helpful comes to mind. I'm sure you know to cover the cardboard edges with thin foam. Anywhere that is curved you cut angles into the cardboard and use one piece of foam, bending it over along the edge to make a nice smooth grip. Otherwise, it is looking good. I like the classic CE AR you went with.

was kinda going for a halo 3 AR but that is some good advice. are you working on anything at this time?

Oh that was my bad. The differences between CE and H3 are pretty subtle, but you're right yours is more like Halo 3. Yeah, I'm wrapping up a Halo 4 Venator helmet, hoping to move on to the rest of the suit soon.

Update on the AR. Now all it needs is plastidip, a working slide, and some leds and we're good.

Hey I know there is a thread for this but do you guys have any tips for a working ammo counter for a halo 3 assault rifle?
