Alright sweet so I'm best off doing the tabs all on one side for the torso? (Only if it's easier). I'm using your pics as a reference and noticed some of your pieces on the helmet have different numbers to mine and your helmet looks SO clean and not warped haha I'll send you a message when I'm up to the forearms and biceps and you can send me the files you've got? I'm getting a new laptop on Tuesday so that's helpful too haha

I fine that it is.(tabs all on one edge). I belive the numbers are different for 1 reason. It's because I've gone, and altered the original Unfold. I believe that from joining, and unjoining parts may increase the parts count, or may lessen the parts count. So PEP designer goes, and recalculates the placement of numbers. Also, I've learned that trying to line up the numbers perfectly isn't accurate at all. That's why I don't bother using them. I'll leave a pic below show you how to go about not using the numbers. And yes, having a computer in front of you is a lot quicker, as you can see what pieces go together. Instead of searching for numbers that match each other on the joining pieces.

Also, in the pic below I got the arrows marked in blue. This is how you would go about gluing tabs without the numbers, and the tabs
being on a single edge instead of being every other one on opposite sides of both joining pieces. Start with number 1, making sure the end points meet up almost perfectly, then do the same with number 2. As for number 3, I usually try to get the tab in the middle glued, then follow up with the others tabs that are left. Those you can do however you like. The most important tabs are the 1, and 2. If those are lined up well, the rest should be good to go.

Sweet as man thank you. When I've finished the helmet and other shin I'll move on to the torso and I'll definitely try it that way. Sounds like it would be a lot cleaner to do as well.
Cheers! :)
Looking good!
Thank you :)

Not related to my build but I had to share this with you guys. I put a deposit down for a puppy today! He's a mastiff x staffy and I've decided to call him Chief after John 117 ;) and he will be ready to get picked up in 4 weeks :D

Awesome job I've always thought that the latest master chief armour looks really cool, how long has it taken you to get this far
Just under a month I think. But process has slowed down the last week or so because I just started a new job

Heh, one piece of advise : as sweet as he is, keep him away from your build.
Build and young cats&dogs = nothing good comes from this. Take it from someone who learned this the hard way. :D

Lol don't worry I've had plenty of practice keeping 2 50 kilo dogs away from my build already

Looking good, nice pep work!

I'm all open for comments on the difficulty of the pep work. I want to make another set of files over the summer, so I'm always looking for ways to improve the ease of building and such.

Keep up the good work!

These are awesome pep files so thank you! I think the only thing which would really improve this helmet would be the chin/nose area here

it was pretty difficult tbh haha but that may just be me.

Anyway so I have a problem. before I did the neck hole part I put it on and it fits my head perfectly but after I did the neck hole I can't put it on at all its tiny so I'm stuck with whether I should remove the neck part to make it fit or not?

If you plan to do your helmet first for resining, fiberglassing, bodyfiller/bondo, painting, and then installing the visor then keep that section in. I plan to do my helm last, so as of now I purposefully left that section out. Just for test fitting, and proportioning with the rest of the armor on. Although you should resin that area to, so your helm can keep its shape, you will have to use a dremel tool to cut off enough to get your head in. Do your bondo work to the helm, but I suggest not doing any bondo/bodyfiller work to that section that you'll be cutting off. Just makes more sense, because putting the bodyfiller there is wasted time, and materials(cut-off wheel for dremel). Basically you would have to cut through more. If its just resin, and cardstock. Then the thickness to cut through will be less.:cool

Damm, disappointing because I really wanted to put it on I'll do that anyway then, I still have a feeling that even with the neck part removed it still won't fit.. I have a really big head :/ lol

Alllllrigghhttyyy. The helmet is FINALLY done. Its a bit warped in places but I actually found it a lot easier than I thought it would be (except for the chin, that bit was annoying).
I just went ahead and removed the neck part (which was only one strip) and it fits perfectly. Its a little loose but I know once I finish it and add padding etc it will fit perfect.
Pics!

Nice to see things coming along! Was curious as to know what shoe size do you wear? I wear a size 12. Just trying to get a idea on scaling for the feet. Also, what was your final numbers on the scaling in pepakura?

I'm a size 8 in UK sizing (I think). I just measured toe to heel of the boot I'm going to be wearing and that's how I got the boot size for mine.
As for the helmet I just measured chin to the top of my head and I didn't have to scale the helmet down too much, default was 300 and I think mine was set at 275 I can't remember.
I was gonna start the torso this morning but I ended up just printing one of the hand/glove plates lol.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to measure myself for the torso? Any tips?

Well, looking at the reference photos provided by Masterbuilder. From a front view, I tried going off of that. That actually didn't work. It ended up being to small. Even though I didn't pep the full torso the front chest plate was enough to go off of and see that it was going to be to small. I recommend checking out the first page of my thread. Basically it was trial and error for the torso. The second attempt was left at default scale.

I just had a look. I measured from armpit to armpit and got 545mm so it's printing right now (74 pages -.-)

K. Just for starters, I would start with the front chest piece first. Just print that, don't print out everything. Wanna make sure the front looks proportionate first. If that looks good to go then go aghead and print the rest.:)

I ran out of ink so I didn't get to print it all. Is there a way I can select just the front pieces to print tho? Because I couldn't figure out how because I was originally going to do that but the only way I figured to do it was hold down the shift key and click all the pieces in the front part one by one (which was annoying and time consuming because there's a lot of tiny pieces).

You should be able to box select a full page in the 2d view. Even though the pages or spaced out across the grid. It should be organized for certain sections of the torso. And dont worry, about them being spaced out. Pepakura doesn't count the blank pages.:)
