Meatwad's Halo 4 Foam MC Build

So, i know a lot of you probably thought i was dead... but I'm not! I'm back! I kinda gave up on my custom grenadier pep build, but now I've decided to go foam! For my first ever foam build, i will be making a Halo 4 Master Chief suit. This time i hope to actually finish. I've decided to start from the bottom and work my way up. I started with the right boot.

It's not perfect, but I'm very happy with the way it's turning out. Foam is a very fun and challenging medium so far.

Please let me know what you guys think. Any constructive criticism is welcome. After all, this is my very first time with foam so I'm a Newby all over again.

I'll be painting it the same color as Master Chief's suit. I plan on painting it all at the same time though, so at the end right before painting it will all be purple lol. I'll be a Barney Chief!

Thanks man, that means a lot.

Tonight's project was the kneed pads. The seams aren't as clean as i would like, but i can fix that later.

Last night i started on a shin. Didn't make it very far though. I'm not sure how i feel about them yet. They're crazy messy.

Hello all!

My progress during the week has unfortunately come to a stand still, but luckily i like to stay up late on the weekends.

Here's tonight's progress.

I'm very happy with the end result. But alas, i can't fit my size 14 foot through it -_- although i do have an idea to remedy it. I just hope i don't destroy it in the mean time.

So, i wasn't able to make the shin work, and i felt it was a tad too small. I started working on shin 2.0. I increased the scale by 10% so hopefully this one fits better.

Hopefully I'll be able to work on it more this week and hopefully my giant hobbit feet fit through them lol.

Usually what i do is take a bunch of reference pictures and see where they line up on the body. Then i measure that distance on me, in centimetres, and add a 0 at the end to convert to millimetres. Then i change the scale in pepakura designer to match that dimension. I usually use the measure from point to point option in pep designer to make sure openings are wide enough and the height is correct.

Shin version 2.0 is complete.... And it fits! It turned out way better than my first one too. I'm very happy with the results. I also traced out all the pieces for my second shin. I hope to have it done by this weekend.

I was getting around to that, but thanks for getting it to him sooner.

Anyway, i finished shin V 2.1! It's even better than V 2.0. I'm very happy with how these turned out. I cannot wait to get more done!

I'm not sure what to start on next. I might finish the boots. I'm thinking of restarting them, as they were my first pieces and i made some critical errors.
