Alright, so I've started on my Gen-2 Mk V build. Both shoes are glued, and I just need to finish shaping. Here's a teaser of the first shoe, pinned and formed. :)

I figured I'd take a break from foam for a while. I'm finished the cap on the Halo 4 Recruit helmet (pepakura). Moving on to the bottom portion now.

I'm not surprised. My Knight's pretty well known for his armouring, which is what he was Laureled for.

This helmet was what he calls an "afteroon lid". He threw it together from scraps in my first year, so I'd have something to fight in.

Here's the recruit helmet I did up as a test.

Unfortunately it's too small for my head, but that's okay, it was just a test. You can see the left side of the helmet (right side of the photo) has been partially hardened by using watered down wood glue (gorilla glue).

Holy crap, that's an awesome helmet! I love it when people make helmets out of foam and they turn out awesome, great job! :D

Sadly, that's paper pep. I wanted to do foam, but with all the little bitty pieces, I figured I should at least test it with paper first.

Next step is deciding whether the next helmet is going to be the same level or more challenging, and whether paper and fibreglass, or foam.

Alright, it's time to get back on the wagon. I took some time off to focus on work, which resulted in some house reorganizing and now everything is strewn across the galaxy. Before taking my break, I had the top cap of the EOD Helmet finished, but not hardened yet. Still just hardening with Gorilla Glue, because it's handy and sandable.

I'll post some pics soon. I need to pick up some open-cell upholstery foam with which to pad the helmet. If I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do it right. Fans and cooling packs will be last on my list of things to build, but they shouldn't be too hard. It shouldn't be hard to build a cooling suit, so the real challenge will be wiring lights and fans into the armour. Still, I'll be moving on to other armour soon, but I need to set up a working space again. Stay tuned for details!

Also on the drawing board is a cooling/fan/light controller. Maybe even build one with local comms system.

Current list (mostly for me, but input is welcome)

Adafruit : 3.5" TFT 320x480 + Touchscreen Breakout Board w/MicroSD Socket - HXD8357D
Arduino? Maybe.... Or RaspberryPi. More research needed.

Helmet looks great! Sometimes a break is necessary, other things will pop up in life.
Idk at all wiring and stuff. SO are you planning on having like a wrist screen with controls? is that what the touch screen board is? I want to have wrist controls for my suit but I'm utterly lost when it comes to anything like that.
