    Just another MKVI suit!

Yeah, not folding every line was probably someething I should've done... too late now though :/ The edges on the thighs are much sharper than the ones on your helmet, so I kinda have to do all of that if I want to make it round, no? I guess I won't have to use that much when I get to the helmet...

    Just another MKVI suit!

Alrighty, update! So I've fiberglassed the codpiece, couldn't get arsed to print out supports for it so I put it up like this: Worked really well actually Sanded off most of the pools of resin on most of the parts Fiberglassed one thigh, went pretty well, better than expected Just tried...

    Just another MKVI suit!

Alright guys, thanks for all the advice :D I'm gonna try fiberglassing. With some luck I won't mess it up too much (and it's on the inside so it doesn't matter as much as the outside if it looks weird) I've only put on one coat of resin and it's pretty hard (I kinda drenched the pieces). My...

    Just another MKVI suit!

Hiya guys! :) Been working on a MKVI suit and I a few questions and would like some tips etc etc A few pics HERE. Don't want to clutter the whole post up with huge pics. Status: Helmet: Okey for now Torso: When should I split it? After/before I've resined the outside? After fiberglassing...

    Andersson's first pep [MKVI Helmet][PICS] :)

I tried it on again. I'd say I could fit about 2cm of air between the top of my head and my helmet. I can definitely shove my head forwards, back and to the side enough for padding. Would 2cm (close to an inch) be enough? :( Weird, thought I had a really big head Edit: This is the way I scaled...

    Andersson's first pep [MKVI Helmet][PICS] :)

Kinda worried! It didn't feel tight at all when I was inside it (that's what I said teehee). Ah well, we'll see how it turns out! On the plus side I might need a lot of padding inside ;D

    Andersson's first pep [MKVI Helmet][PICS] :)

Thanks :) I was just joking about the scaling, but you saying yours is 265mm tall got me a bit worried cause mine's 255mm :s Here's a pic of me wearing it: The "chin" of the helmet fits right under my chin, but I suppose one cm more wouldn't hurt. In the picture it looks extremely small, but...

    Andersson's first pep [MKVI Helmet][PICS] :)

So I've done my first ever pep (first ever art-and-crafts thing really). I want to make an entire suit but seeing how long this helmet took, that's gonna take at least a year! I'm really lazy :/ I sometimes had problems getting the numbers aligned just right and the paper got a bit bendy and...

    "Help!" for: Papercraft or Pepakura

Hey there! Almost done with my first ever pep, of a Mark VI helmet. There's just one thing: I plan to have LED-lights. Is it then really necessary to glue paper over the holes when making the pep? Similarly; should I glue the paper visor on? I sense it would be annoying to remove it after...

    Materials in Sweden?

Well, I need 160gsm because that's the heaviest my printer can handle. And as far as I know there are no office supply stores in sweden at all (that are not online-only)... Guess I'll have to order online then :/

    Materials in Sweden?

Do you (or any Swede) know of any physical store that has paper above 80gsm? (I'm looking for 160) All paper over 160 that I can find are online only. I don't really want to pay ~10$ to ship something worth ~20$... I have checked the sites of some big stores in Stockholm, but they only seem to...

    Materials in Sweden?

Hey guys! I want to start making my first armor now, and I need materials. The thing is I live in Sweden, and here we don't have anything called Cardstock or Resin or Bondo 'n junk. So if any Swedes could give me some tips for what stuff to buy (most importantly paper and a printer to go...

    405th Mentor Programme 2.0

Hiya! This is the first time I'm going to build anything at all (part from a crappy shelf in school), so I could really need someone patient to throw a bunch of "Durrrr"-questions at. The plan is to make a complete Mark VI armor by next summer. I've been looking through a lot of the stickies...
