I don't have any experience with hiding my hair in armor, what I do when wearing a wig is put my hair in two dutch braid (aka an inverted french braid) pigtails. I prefer dutch braids 1000x more than french braids simply because the nature of the dutch braid holds your hair a lot more tightly...
