    First Halo Foam Build

Everything's looking great so far! I also love your iPod attachment. What are you using to cut your foam? Some of your edges look a little rough. I'd highly suggest an xacto knife with sharp blades. If its sharp it'll cut foam like butter. If it's dull you'll have to saw to cut. Sharp cut edges...

    Foam MK VI by Bexi

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments! Aww. Thank you so much! I will absolutely be finishing my Dare, I just decided I wanted to try to have a mkvi for the Halo 4 release. Once this suit is done, I’ll go back and finish up Dare. Also, your suit is looking amazing. Very...

    Foam MK VI by Bexi

Hi everybody! Firstly, I know I've been gone for a while. I've been dealing with some pretty serious health problems for the past many months. As a result I've had neither the time, nor energy to do anything fun. However, it seems like my health might finally be on the upswing so I have some...

ODST Dare Foam Build (Pic heavy)

Hey everybody! I’m sorry I abandonded this thread for a while. Life and all that jazz decided I wasn’t going to have time for fun. I’ve got some more free time now and will be returning to this project. Some updates since I last posted- the visor I got for my helmet broke when I was trimming...

    Xtremenoob's Mark VI build

The design looks good... but I'd suggest re-doing it out of craft foam. Some of the edges look a little uneven and it looks a tiny bit thicker in some spots, which using the craft foam will eliminate.

ODST Dare Foam Build (Pic heavy)

Hi everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I had to briefly put my Dare on hold. I was busy making a birthday present for a buddy. He turned 21 this week and I thought what could be cooler than having his very own Master Chief helmet? He’s always liked the Combat Evolved version...

ODST Dare Foam Build (Pic heavy)

So I’ve got a little update today. Not much, but it’s finals week and I'm wicked busy. Here’s some more progress I’ve made on my helmet. It took me 6 tries to get the DARE to be the right size and in the right place. Finally got it! I made a spine that attaches to the back with Velcro. Mucho...

No difficulties at all. Just take your time more than anything. Making a smoothly pepped helmet will make ever other step go much easier. Also, using rondo is really quite simple. Here's exactly how I make it and everything. Put 2 rounded spoonfuls (I use plastic spoons) of bondo into a plastic...

Theres a new odst on the street

Looks good. Just make sure to really fill in those seams well! What I do is to gob on a bunch of hot glue and scrape it off before it can dry. Then let it cool an repeat until there are no divits. Paint will not hide seams but it will cover hot glue just fine. Other than that, it looks like...

ODST Dare Foam Build (Pic heavy)

Hey everybody! Got a bit of an update for you today :) I've been working on my helmet's paint job. It's not done yet. but here's the progress so far: I picked up the visor for my helmet from the post office this morning! Next step is to cut it down to size and install...

My Mark VI "Sister" Build WIP

Just keep that window open and fan on for a few hours once everything's dry :) Also all your rondo'd stuff looks awesome. It looks like you were able to get it nice and smooth. This build is definitely progressing very nicely.

Thanks :) I’ve very pleased with how it’s turned out. You’re welcome! I very highly suggest the rotary tool. I’ve never been able to maneuver the full size dremel well enough in confined spaces (like teh inside of a helmet). But this one is no bigger than my hand. It’s perfect! And adorable...
