Thanks all!
@ brogeta: I noticed that commando helms are everywhere. Guess I'm part of THAT crowd now. haha.
@AI Blue Fox: Thanks for the suggestions, but with this weeks update to the game I need to reevaluate my thoughts on the chest attachment
Well. More work accomplished. Decided to postpone the hardening process for a while. Weather has taken a turn for the cold (about time mother nature)
Finished pepping the helm:
Also began working on the chestpiece. Sculpting with cardboard is fun :)

Wow man. You made mad progress on those helms fairly quickly. Nice Commando(carter) helmet! I'm currently building it for my suit. Won't be like you fancy Mark VIs though. Good luck with chest piece!
You went to town with the bondo Swift! Good thing you have that sanding bit or you would have Arnold Arms by the time you were done. Ha ha. How much weight did it add to the helm?
As am I S42 and thanks.
I also made that same mistake when I made the Recon helmet. This time around I precut the pieces with an xacto knife and left them attached to the pages just enough to where they wouldn't fall off. I must say it makes the pieces much easier to find and they pop right out...
Hey all. Shag here. Figured I might as well post a new thread about my personal longterm project. I would like to create my own suit of armour which can be identified only to me. So here are the plans.
Helm: Commando (Same as Carter)
Torso: Can't decide which add-on yet. TBA
Pauldrons...
Very nicely done helm. Detail work is well done also. Only thing I noticed is that your visor sits back in the hole. Other than that a thumbs up. Nice suit btw. =P
I don't know how that would turn out RavenWolf. You may be onto something there.
The paper mache over cardboard worked really well. The end product is solid yet flexes a bit to fit the body's form. Surprising results to say the least. Would work as a great platform for resin/fiberglass for certain.
Hey all. Spartan 420 reporting. I have been lurking on the forums for quite some time and the time has finally come for my first post. A little background on this build:
Some time ago I made a pepped recon helmet in hopes of starting my own set of armor. Needless to say countless obstacles...
