ALSA Corp. makes exactly what you're talking about. Pearlescent spray cans. They're expensive, but from the looks of it, they're about the best you can find short of having a shop custom-make spraycans for you.

This is one of the best ideas I've seen on this site. My dad served in the Army (even fought in Desert Storm) during most of my childhood. On his behalf I thank you for doing this. I want to see pictures of the finished suit though. This is too good to not at least have photos of.
