the easiest way to leanr to do something is to try it. like ACDCrockr209 said, pick a really easy file to start with. that way youll make the green mistakes everyone does and wont feel like you ruins a 50+ peice project. there are also some really good how to videos up on this site and youtube...

have you thought about picking up some mannequin parts? i have a torso and arms that match my size exactly. i figured when i finally tackle clay it would save me some time and materials. you might be able to make one work out well for you.

ive never worked with clay. im a welder, so i have plenty of metal experiance, but as far as using clay, i know as much as i do about rocket science. so you can imajine how impressed i am when i see clay builds. but your build is turning out great. are you going to sculpt the rest of your armor?

Yah, i did the whole kevlar thing in Iraq back when i was in the service, and because im a welder i got stuck welding armor on trucks in 130+ degree F heat in my armor and welding leathers. talk about a bad day.

thats sick. i love fallout 3. i want to make up a couple of the outfits from the game. im a huge mad max fan so its great to see the references in the games for the movies. have you though about customizing a few of the raider hemlets? hockey masks and welding helmets are pretty easy and cheap...

well, just dont go playing with fireworks in the armor. as far as fireproof clothing, the military here in the states as well as welders wear 100% cotton. it does a really good job of withstanding sparks and wisking sweat away, but short of going with full leather, you should probably just go...

you should see if they still make those pink barbie jeeps for little kids and get some pictures with it. aside from the jokes, your armor looks great. i think doing it in pink will definatly make you stand out. and it is very cute.

your best bet might just be molding off of a roughly uniform size, one for the guys and one for the girls. post pictures though, mad max is my favorite movie ever. id love to see how everything ends up looking
