I purchased an Iwata airbrush and then any compressor with a small tank. The Iwata brush is great, its ability to dump a bunch of paint on as well as be very accurate is great.

Sorry for the late reply but it was all airbrushed by hand! It gives the suit much more depth and realism when the green is not completely consistent.

My Mark VI build is complete!

Hey everyone, I finished the first version of the suit up last month, here are some pictures! I do plan on remaking some parts in the future but I'm happy with it so far.

It’s 3D printed from TPU flexible filament. Definitely make sure it’s completely dry before you print with it and you will get better results. You can bake it to dry it out.

ABS is a game changer once you can get good prints. For smaller parts, acetone smoothing will make your prints look like they were cast. It’s very easy to sand and at 1.2mm walls, it’s very strong.

That looks great! Since it’s one cast how do you put it on?

Heres what I have done so far. Also, very proud of my printer for completing this 70+ hour ABS print, first try, with no enclosure! One thing nice about the California heat, my garage stays about 95 degrees for most of the summer. Let me know what you guys think.

Finishing up the base coat of the chest, spent more time sanding this one down and this one came out much better. Definitely dont skimp on sanding and prep work. I liked the idea of doing a white 117 so I made my own tape stencil and airbrushed it onto the suit. I will likely add white stripes...
