    Props Thorssoli's M6G Pistol Build

I've got one of these, only mine is the vertical-mounted version: Its worth noting that you should NEVER DO THIS. Awesome work man, I've been looking at a CNC myself (there's a neat DIY called a "bluechick" that I've been saving for) and this is some damn inspiring work. I can only...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

The AEP7 is in my list of "to-do" builds. I have the blueprints done and the body/grip already cut out, but that project has been shelved for the time being due to other deadlines. Thanks for all the compliments on my work guys, the gun is now proudly hanging in the offices at Bethesda...

South Uk Based Master Chief Clay Sculpt

Do you gelcoat your molds before fiberglassing, or just a thin coat of resin brushed in as a first layer? As others have said, outstanding work. Really looking forward to seeing you tackle the helmet sculpt.

    Bioshock 2 Props

3/8" pine dowel lathed to a point, stuck into a 1" PVC pipe that had the end blocked off with apoxie sculpt. aaaaand since this this isn't my thread, I'll stop talking about my stuff now. Any other questions, send me a PM!

    Bioshock 2 Props

The thing on the end of the ADAM Syringe is actually a baby bottle nipple (ew). I had a hard time finding pink ones when I made mine, so I painted a clear one from the inside with acrylic paint.

    Thorssoli's MkVI Costume Buildup

You might also take a look at Smooth-On's "Onyx" resin. I used some of it on some pieces a while back and its a good product. A bit more brittle than smoothcast300, but if you're just doing solid resin pieces, that shouldn't be much of a concern. Fantastic work on that inner thigh piece...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

eh, all in time... I already have a TON of projects in queue. I'll get back to the Fallout universe soon enough though. Update: Gun is finished! Really happy with the finished result on this one, but I'm looking forward to working on something else for a while. This build ate...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

A little bit of a jump in progress. I got a few nice days in a row and decided to take full advantage of the weather and paint as much as possible in the small window of time I know I'd have before the rain started up again. I could post a LOT of pics detailing what I did over the past week...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

haha, thanks for the spirited compliment! Test assembled all the pieces after primer yesterday to check if there are any fitment issues. I made the tolerances a little too close when building everything, as the layers of paint actually make it rather tough to assemble. I'll have to shave down...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

More details... I'm really looking forward to a simple build after this, like a sword or something. Seems like every time I look at my reference images, there's more things I need to make!

Props Weta Selling Full Sized D-9 Guns

Actually, they have a distribution house in California. Shipping to me in Atlanta was only $24, and the final cost is $490 US, the $700 is New Zealand currency.

Props Weta Selling Full Sized D-9 Guns

Worth every penny of the money. WETA props are above and beyond in terms of fit and finish. I'd love to own one, but I've had plans of making my own for some time now, and for me the creation of the item is half the fun of owning it! Edit: Well, that didn't last long. I caved. Maybe I'll...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

Work continues... The weather here in Georgia has been crap lately - rain every weekend, and its always dark and cold when I get home so its difficult to get a layer of paint on anything. I've been chasing all the little cracks and uneven areas down with spot putty Of course, not going...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

Mine is just an el-cheapo Harbor Freight job. Not really fancy or terribly precise, but it gets the job done really well. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95607 For replica work I think its perfect. I've turned plastic and epoxy on it to already, does a pretty...

    Aer9 Laser Rifle (Fallout 3)

Yeah, I'm glad I can give this thing the attention to detail it deserves. Its a really cool design, and I hated having to skip all the details on V1. Updates: Mostly just details, details, details. I recently bought a lathe, which made shaping the MF cell and the lower bar much, much easier...
