Respirators, Dust Masks, and What You Should Know.

I just wanted to add a few more bits on information. Make sure you are all using a respirator and not a dust mask (N95 Dust Mask). Dust masks are designed for just that, dust. Sometimes they may be referred to as a comfort mask. These are great for dusting, sweeping, or other nuisances and...

    "Help!" for: Electronics

Wiring Sizes (in American Wire Gauge [AWG]) and Amperage I thought this might be helpful. The following chart is a guideline of ampacity or copper wire current carrying capacity following the Handbook of Electronic Tables and Formulas for American Wire Gauge. Basically, if your amperage...

Respirators, Dust Masks, and What You Should Know.

Thanks Weeds. I will use the advanced settings from now on. And I agree 100%. I do safety all-day long so it was no trouble. Safety cannot be stressed enough. The chemicals we use are dangerous and can do some serious damage to you, if not worse. I'm sure most of us are in our garages; not...

Respirators, Dust Masks, and What You Should Know.

Hi everyone. I am still a noob here on the forum and have been reading a lot. One thing I have noticed is that, rightfully, respritory protection must be used when working with the chemicals required for creating these excellent armoring and costuming creations. But I have noticed that some of...

I agree, some of us (me in particular) were thinking of something far too complicated. Ithica's design is genious in its simplicity.

Why not mold a vehicle mount into the armor. Then the ipod, i phone, etc, would juct clip into place. See link; http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx?afid=42&admkt=d02b361c

    Method to power amor...

I was thinking about this the other night myself. I was thinking about mounting it in the rear of the body armor with a small laptop with good power connected to a USB HUB. Then anything you mount in the helmet itself (I was thinking of the lighting, small 2-inch monitor connected to a rear...

    "Help!" for: Papercraft or Pepakura

i had a similar problem. When you go to print you need to set the actual printer properties to landscape (print, printer name properties button, orientaition set to landscape). Chance are it is set to portrait. This irritated me for about an hour before I figured it out.

    "Help!" for: Papercraft or Pepakura

I am working on my first pep. Just actually started today. I am a bit of a perfectionist and place more stock into planning than the actual doing. But as the sayings go: "the plan is only good until the first shot is fired" and "measure twice, cut once." I am working on a recon helmet and spent...

    Why do YOU build armor?

Well I haven't even started yet. I found the site while looking for something else, releted to how to do customer fiberglass. I work on my car allot during the spring and summer. Winter leaves me a bit bored. So I think I may start doing this. Plus, I want to quite smoking. I find that when I am...

    How did you find us?

I have been trolling around this site for months as a guest and finally registered. I found the site out of a desire to learn fiberglass and body work for cars. I wanted to learn how to do some customized parts. I found a video on you tube about making a helmet, and said "ah ha. This is the...
