So, I have searched this site specifically for painting info, as it directly relates to what I am looking for. I have NOT used google yet, but if all else fails, I will. What paints work best when it comes to finishing up your pieces? Any particular brand? also... I remember seeing a vid on here...

well, I finished my helmet. All I have to do is paint it. Any tips on what paints work best? my buck that I will vacuform my visor from. I should have my chest pepped tomorrow, and will bang out some more pieces on weds. will keep you updated.

well, I got some more work done.. Not much but some. got the visor cut out, and started bondo-ing. I hate Sanding.

update: Well, I got the helmet resined, Fiberglassed, and primed. probably gonna start sanding soon. I had a BIG (or little for that matter) problem with scaling all my other pieces... if any of you are of the hobbit sized proportion, let me know. here are some pics.

I kept my Pepakura program open and just used the match corresponding face option, my numbers all overlapped as well.

yeah, I had some trouble with it. Im not too worried about warpage... I think I can take care of most of it when I finish it. That center part though directly above the visor....GRRR....Angryface.

So, I did my first pep build about a week or so ago, which was a grenade. I wanted to start with a ODST helm, but it was WAY too menacing as a start. Well I threw myself to the wolves and built it. I used the Rookie ODST by rundown... holy cow its an awesome helmet. I will be doing more pieces...

yes, scoring lines definitely helps. I also suggest if you are new to pep, then try something small first, just so you can get the idea of how it all works. Also, I think having a few glue sticks around helps immensely... lets you put those really small pieces into perfect position.

thats funny that your making a pocket now. they have an updated trailer, and Tarkov can be seen stuffing the remains of the ODST flag into his chest.

see, this gives me courage to try this myself. I too, have little to no experience in making these awesome things. I have that same ODST helmet printed, I may just skip to it. Yours looks good, exceptionally well for a first helmet.
