    Halo Wars Fan Art

Hey everybody! It's me, Doc, back from the dead. Anyways, I've been playing around with my graphic design software, and I decided to bunker down and paint some Halo Wars related fan art. Halo: The Searing I haven't seen a lot of Halo Wars fan art. Does anyone else have something to...

    Props 1911 To M6d

A fiberglass housing is perfectly feasible, and the 1911 Springfield is definitely a good idea for a base model. How are you figuring on affixing the fiberglass body to the upper slide? I'd like seeing how you will work it around the hammer. And a quick question: Is the Springfield the model...

    My First Mark Vi Helmet

Looks pretty good to me for a first try. You have already gotten a lot further than many! I couldn't understand from your post - are you considering fiberglassing this one, or are you going to do another one to fiberglass with your finished armor project?

So... I've Got A Wip. (daftspartan)

Very interesting idea! I shall start raiding yard sales immediately. :D Have you considered doing your details with the craft foam on the rest of your armor? It certainly seems an inexpensive and quick way to do details while leaving nice, smooth surfaces.

    Blender

What you need for your renders, however, is move the camera. 1. Select camera and object (Right Click + Shift on both objects) 2. Ctrl + T and select TrackTo Constraint You should now be able to render with F12 and Save with F3. Noob Tip: If you have trouble selecting and moving the...

So... I've Got A Wip. (daftspartan)

Very creative on the craft foam idea. I'll definitely be using that on my Pepakura armor. And it's a good thing I saw it before I started getting everything all put together! One thing - I really like the way you padded the inside of the helmet. (Forgiving my ignorance for helmets) what kind...

    Blender

Hehe. Forgot about the F3 shortcut for rendering. No offense taken. I learn by helping, and I try to help where I can. Thanks for the input! :)

    Tutorial: Blender To Pepakura

Yes, Sketchup is also a nice program for basic 3D modeling. As far as set designs, I can just imagine pasting together thousands of different pieces of card stock to get that nice life sized base from Blood Gulch. :D I'll look into dulling down the high-res objects for the Pep models, and do a...

    Blender

Is your error occurring when you export from Blender to a file, or is the error when you try opening the file with Pepakura Designer?

    Blender

Have you tried combining all of your geometries into one single mesh? That should help in the exporting. Also, make sure that you have every geometry item selected when you export.

Graverobber's Quest To Making The Mc Helmet

Your Pepakura looks very good. However, remember that when you start fiberglassing, you should be using a respirator. Safety first, especially when parents don't want their children to die young. ;)

    Blender

Possibly, but the instructions for Blender are a bit specific, because it's a difficult interface to understand. The simpler way would be this (for those of you who don't like to read a lot... ;) ) Simple way to render to file in Blender Taken from last post, but without all the nice big...

I Am Very Young But Want Armor Nether The Less

Good luck with making your armor! Just because you're only thirteen (or near that age) doesn't mean that you cannot make a decent suit. I remember several years back when I was about that age. A friend and I wanted to make Jedi costumes. So we figured out how to make replica lightsabers...

    Tutorial: Blender To Pepakura

Thanks for the suggestion on the video. As soon as I can remember how to capture live video from my desktop, I'll think about putting one together. Not only that, but I should probably build some sort of armor-related model in Blender for the example. Any other suggestions?
