I am curious about he Omni Blade as well. I have the Pep file, but looking at doing up templates, and getting it laser cut/etched on acrylic, and heat shaping it.

Well, costume is finished, and wore it this past weekend. Turned out amazing, and lots of compliments and questions. Here's the pics, and some from the stage.

That is something else I need to look at. The shoulder pads have strapping under them that the front/back strap runs through. It keeps it in place, but doesn't keep it down. Looking at something I can put the strap through, that will keep it close to the shoulder.

Well, did a trial run of the costume at the local Con. Not to bad, need to find a way to keep the leg grieves from sliding down, and the cod piece needs to be shrunk down a bit. Keeps rubbing against Leg Grieves.

Just curious if anyone has tried to dull the look of paint on your finished costume? I sealed my costume with a clear coat, but it gave it a semi-gloss finish. Curious if there are any suggestions on how to take the gloss out of it? I am not able to sand it down, since the costume has a...

Ok, almost there. The clear coat I put on to seal the paint gave it a bit of a shine. Not to bad though. And need to backup when taking pictures, will need to grab a better shot of the back. I also took my first try at resin/fiber-glass of the helmet, not to bad. Got a lot better with...

Ok, 1 to 3 coats on the armor. Turning out a lot better than I had hoped. Now to decide how to seal the paint, whether I use verithane or a craft sealer.

Also once painted, I have EL Wire to run through the back of the armor, for the lights. Looks pretty cool so far.

Ok, tested the undercoating I mentioned above, it thick like tar. Not good at all, glad I bought the small can. Guess I will try to find some Plasti-Dip locally, which is hard in Eastern Canada ;)

Perfect, thanks for the link. Missed that in my searches. Well, I am almost ready to paint. Looking at going with the spray glue, let stand for 5 minutes, and than hand painting. (Latex water based paint) A lot of crevices to paint, and hard to get an even coat with the spray.
