I have an HP PSC1510. It cost me like 70 bucks. It's an all in one; it scans, copies and prints. I just printed about 50 pages of card stock last night and it works great.
I didn't see anyone mention these, but when I do work with LED's this helps make a nice clean way to mount them. They are snap in LED holders from radio shack. Push these into the hole from above and slide the LED in from beneath the hole and it snaps into place. They work really well.
For cutting, I have a cutting mat that I do it on. I use an exacto blade and a metal ruler. The cuts come out clean every time. For folding, the tutorial on here is great, you should follow that.
My main hobby is my cars. I have an 06 Mitsubishi Evo MR and a 65 Rambler that take up alot of my time. I am big into r/c cars also. I just got an HPI baja and it's awesome. I'm a full time college student and work part time, so my schedule tends to be pretty busy.
