Agent Washington MK VI build - done!

Thanks! I'm really happy with that yellow, it's such a bright and deep color and it pops really well against the gray.

Ooh, I feel that. I still feel like I should go back and re-bondo this helmet (again). Good luck, though! :)

    Grif's Agent Washington MK VI

Holy moly, this looks incredible. That pep work is seriously phenomenal, all your lines and edges look so clean and the paint job looks mind-blowingly cool. Mad props!

Ahh, thanks!! The helmet was actually way more straightforward than it looks, pepakura is basically painting by numbers and resin+bondo just takes some elbow grease (and patience).

Agent Washington MK VI build - done!

Aaaaaaaand I've finished the build! (On that note, I'm so sorry if this counts as necroposting, and if so I'll happily make a new thread!) I wore this for half of Saturday at Long Beach Comic Con this past weekend, and a huge thank-you to the two people who told me to join the...

Good luck! I got the Meta shirt from the Rooster Teeth store a few years ago, I think it was in 2011? I've got no idea if they're still in stock. :(

Thanks! The gun was quite the process, Littlebro reports thusly: a gray Krylon primer, then Rustoleum chrome paint that was scrubbed with a paper towel after 5 minutes of drying time (to kill the chromey shine), and then on the slide, a black basecoat topped by Krylon Winter Gray (that lightish...

Agent Washington MK VI build - done!

Hey guys, here’s my very first build: Agent Washington from Red vs Blue! Huge, huge thanks to demolition/Robogenisis/crackhead09 for the foam pep files, and to HaloGoddess for the scaling tutorial. A little backstory on why I chose to do this half-build thing – tl;dr, I knew I wouldn’t...

PVA glue AND Plasti-Dip for sealing foam -- my experience so far

Here's the PD versus almost-completed upper thigh (primed and painted, I have some more detailing to do): The uneven texture and the bubbling is driving me up the wall, but I don't have time to re-do it at the moment. I'm going to peel off all the PD and add more coats of PVA glue the next...

    Undersuit Template

Oh whoops, I'm talking specifically about the undersuit that was shown in Spartan Ops. I really like the more matte/rubbery texture of the undersuit, and I really like all of the patterning there. :) Since we're on the topic, here's the concept art for the SpOps undersuits: ( male here &...

PVA glue AND Plasti-Dip for sealing foam -- my experience so far

UPDATE #2: I'm done painting the primary color, letting it dry before I start on details. All in all, I've revised the above "necessary evil" statement -- I am incredibly displeased with how the PD ended up looking, even under more PVA glue, primer, and paint. I was almost tempted to peel it all...

    Undersuit Template

I've been scratching my head over the undersuit for a while and what I'm mostly stuck on (the patterning itself aside) is whether or not to make the foam cutouts removable. The downside to having them removable (i.e., attached with velcro) is that nothing that's velcroed will ever lie flat, but...

PVA glue AND Plasti-Dip for sealing foam -- my experience so far

Regarding visors -- what I actually used was mirror tint plus colored cellophane laminated together, as per this post: http://ohicosplay.tumblr.com/post/117527692954/eventhorizoncosplay- The best part is how easy it'll be to replace if I ever damage it (which hasn't happened yet, one con +...
