Today was a day for taking on two of the most stress inducing parts of the build. The Tex Mechanica emblem setting/blending and sculpting out the grips.
I finally got to a point in this project that I thought was appropriate to start a build thread so here you go!
Most of this was just copied from my facebook art page. So if you're interested in the build you can follow me at AxiomUltra Designs
Back when Destiny released I knew that I would...
New Update!
First off, thanks everyone!
Make sure you are test fitting with whatever under suit you plan on wearing first of all. If they are still sliding around over the neoprene or lycra then try spraying a small coat of plasti-dip rubber on the inside of the leg, that worked for me...
Thanks everyone!
@ Matt - Yeah I can't wait to get this one finished either.
@ Liiansa - Thanks. The black areas before the plasi-dip are actually 3mm craft foam. When I cut the initial part out, I went ahead and cut the parts that needed a black surface. Then layered the 3mm foam on those...
Putting the pvc armature to the test right away this afternoon. Makes it easier than flipping the part over. I went ahead and added some holes for the belt strap to feed through, assembled the latches for those straps (which will be attached later), and installed the straps running over the...
Thanks everyone!
Here is somewhat of an update on the project/s:
So while also working on another 3D rifle, along with the two costumes I need to get done, I have slowly been working on developing this little guy.
The model was sculpted in ZBrush and broken down into several parts. Each part...
Sure. I put the entire set including helmet up for download and made a thread for it

Or you can send me your email or go to the link in my sig and message me there. Just a warning it may take me a bit to get back to you...
Thanks guys!
Back to 3D!!!
I started sculpting in details to this model. I'm pretty happy with where it's going. Now I just need to find something to do with it when I'm done 0_0
Thanks everyone :)
I didn't actually cover the raw edges, at least that wasn't my intent. It is actually 3mm styrene that I cut out and glue on the edges of the foam to work as a "guide" that makes the part hold its shape. If you look at my first shoulder bells you can see a very distinct seam...
I have been receiving a lot of messages about my N7 armor progress, how it was built, and what I used to make it. So I decided it would probably be a better idea to just post that information here for all to see rather than continue to answer messages one by one! I don't have a blog or another...
Those mats are generally labeled as (1/2 inch) and I've bought 1/2 inch mats at three different places and all three are actually slightly different thicknesses but they all worked out fine. You don't need an exact size to do this sort of work. Foam is pretty forgiving to work with.
I had to rush home from work because I was so pumped about starting the second phase of this project!
The initial strapping job was almost a complete success. The shoulders need an additional strap running from the front torso to back torso to help keep both shoulders closer to the body...
