I will recommend the CR-10s and Anycubic Korba 2 Max for a beginner since it affordable and easy to work on. Ultimaker Cura is a good slicer and sizing program for beginners and Meshmixer to cut model to pieces. Sizing is not really hard but not easy, it mostly time to get used to it and learn...

Quick update on the helmet. It is done and I think it look great I did the weathering process that looks more halo infinite than halo 3 look. I am currently 3D printing my forearm pieces and after my arm will be done and it will be time to move to the chest

So I got more PLA Filament and I been printing the left biceps. I had make some readjustment to the bicep so it will work in ArmorSmith program. (It was only a layout scale) So I got my Bicep and Forearm size on ArmorSmith.

When I make my helmet and printing them take about 1 whole roll and about 3/4 of another one. And it also depends on how big it going to be but no more than 2 roll of filament. I also suggest to buy a Sidewinder X1 or the new X2 or cheap but reliable you can go for the CR-10
