It’s been a minute since I visited the ODST cosplay. Every soldier needs a trusty sidearm. So…the UNSC M6C/SOCOM desert edition.

Same. I’ve never known anyone that won. Sadly it didn’t include any armor or an energy sword

The package has arrived! Today I received my Xbox Series X that I won in the Taco Bell promotion. I’m still in shock that I actually won this. Anyway, I couldn’t think of a better unboxing then by wearing my ODST costume (please forgive my acting skills lol). This is amazing! Thanks to @tacobell...

ODST helmet is complete!!! Here are few shots showing the decals on the sides and back. I also had some fun setting up a 360 video which is in my story.

Got the two primary colors, Dark Steel and Red, applied to the ODST helmet. I’ve also started the first bit of weathering. I included a couple pics of the masking process as that something most of us seldom show.

Work is still progressing on the ODST helmet. I took my time cutting out the visor and the neck. Also the resin was thin in a few of the detail areas (ie you could shine a light through it) so I had to reinforce those spots. I then wet sanded everything, including the mold line. I hit a couple...

Thanks! I may do that once it’s all complete. I want to get a good look at it outdoors before I go too far.

The past week and a half have been a struggle. First dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sally and then some health issues. But, this week this beauty arrived in the mail from @costumedork. Something to look forward to for sure.

With the ODST almost complete I had to see how it looked put together. I dressed my doppelgänger mannequin so I could get a good look all around. There are a couple areas I need make some minor adjustments, but overall we’re good. Now just waiting on my bucket to arrive from @costumedork and it...

While finishing the forearm cutouts (I had cut these out so I could get my hands through as the wrist opening is too small - they just twist on/off now) I decided to add some final details. I created the chevron decal first to see how it would look. Only then did I decide to take a before shot...

Attached the pouches to the legs and recreated the custom straps. I think this really completes the look.

Pouches are complete. The thigh pouches are attached, I’ll do the legs later this week. Also I created a PDF template of my pouches and added to my ODST cosplay bits thing on Thingiverse for anyone interested.

This is true! I’ve learned so much along the way, and still learning new techniques even now. I can see my progression in each piece. The next armor I make, whatever that may be, will certainly be higher quality. But, like you said, I’m proud to say I made this.

Thanks! This is actually the first armor I’ve ever created. I’ve really enjoyed the creative process and learning how to work with foam and 3D printed parts.
