Well surely the 'no commercially bought' part is a no-brainer. Bought from other costumers/commissioned is harder to police. It would be terribly unfair for someone with a 120+ hour build to be told "not good enough" while someone who threw cash at etsy for a finished suit gets high status...

Well put. I find the tier system appealing because it potentially allows for people either just getting started, or without the resources, to still participate and get involved. While also giving something to strive for at the higher tiers. I don't think the system will be abused and used to...

There was another discussion on HUDs and internal displays for non visor-ed helmets, a while back. There's a few products out there which can provide a projection onto a near screen. Similar to the Google glass product. None of them are terribly well publicised and took a bit of sifting through...
