It's a little disorienting seeing it in smooth shading instead of flat. Looks like a fun project. If you were REALLLLY wanting to do the M6H2, I've already modeled it. http://www.405th.com/showthread.php?t=45599 The link to the file is in post #10. I'm still working on modeling each part to be...
I didn't like the V-groove system either. I've changed it. My doors also fold in half so it doesn't take up so much desktop space. Having the Z axis fold down is basically a Foldarap.
I bet it's not too big for Rambo.
For the past 3 years I've been working on a folding 3D printer. Much like the one Ben Heck built. With mine, you will build it to what ever size you want (to fit your preferred build plate size and desired height). He laser cut his pieces, mine is 3D printed...
The feed system is usually rubber. The friction produced by the soft rubber is what grabs the paper and pushes it along. Over time this rubber can harden or get dirty. When it hardens, the rubber gets smooth and feels like plastic. This is like the drive system on most VCR's. That's why VCR's...
Normals are the direction the faces are facing. You'll want them all facing out, but at least in the same direction. It's explained a little in this video.
When using the Mirror Modifier, remember to check mark the "clipping" selection. Using the mirror modifier will put a Edge Loop down the center.

I think I found what the problem may be. When you export as a .stl file...
I'm sure this is saving on the possibility of failed prints that would waste sooooo much time and plastic. The longer it's on the printer the greater the chance of failure. This is part of the reason I never went through with building a larger 3D printer. Although it still would be cool to print...
Not yet. I'm holding tight onto this file for the time being. The biggest problem that it has is, I ran the file through Netfabb.com's cloud service. The final mesh didn't come out too smooth using it. After I release the multiple part files, I won't have ran them through any compressing...
Thank you very much for your support.
If I do decide to include one with a round imbedded in the top, I'll also be leaving the original blank.
Thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't need it. That would be very nice to see them displayed in a case with a painted magnum though.
