i'm working on a subject delta costume, and on the right shoulder down to elbow, subject delta has this hing like thing, i think it's meant to support the drill. what would i make that out of?

i'm almost at the point where i'm gonna resin and fiberglass my subject helmet, how do i know when the resin will stop causing fumes, and how do i know if the fiberglass won't flake after i resin it. in which case how many layers of resin should go on after the fiberglass to make it safe?

i know there are a lot of threads on waterproofing pepakura projects, but i have to restart my subject delta helmet because it wrinkled last time i coated it with resin, is there anyway to protect it from future layers of resin without making it warp and sag?
